Ranked war like events but for individuals. Maybe a monthly or even constant ongoing thing where you enter and are assigned an online opponent of similar ranking and fight maybe a quick 2 out of 3. An hour later everything updates and the next round happens. With each fight set you go up in the ranks. If you are offline you stay at your rank until you go on again and then another ranked opponent is assigned. With each win you score more points. However you will always be in the same class based on your stats and possibly other factors. That gives everyone a fighting chance to be a winner for however long you can hold it. But not fighting does not mean your trophy is locked up, other active players can make higher scores by being active. This might be where ELO finally has a place in standings. Maybe even leagues based on weapons, such as none, no RW weapons, only blades, etc

This is only a germ of an idea off the top of my head and not well thought out so don't kill me. And you are welcome to add subtract or ingore anything and everything here.

Not every one. I was on the original Pink Power...

That still ranks as one of the biggest shit-shows in torn history, in my eyes.

That idea has already been proposed and was told it would never happen.  I have pitched it to bogie before

I miss Dogtags. If elims is more your flavour, then each to their own.

I don't think any events will knock Halloween or Christmas town off of ppls favourites, but as I say this, I really wished I'da discovered Torn before Torn Of The Dead got pulled. That looks / looked like fun.

I’m a new player and Elims gave me Big Brother / Survivor vibes, except instead of playing as yourself you’re either one of the people leading the team or you’re basically a soldier. I like those kinds of shows, so I dont mind being a soldier and just going with the flow. Hit who I’m told to hit, watch the drama unfold and try to figure out what the hell is happening behind the scenes lol. I shared some predictions with others early on too and was completely wrong! lol oh well

But I can also see this is not* everybody’s cup of tea. As a solider, your fate isn’t in your own hands and your social game is none existent. Maybe that's just how i felt as a new player though. When you’re new, you’re playing alongside people who have been doing this for years and already know everyone. You know who the trolls and the scammers are.

At the same time, in those shows, plenty of players have had their entire game blown up because of somebody else’s move, alliance or mistake. As a Loose Cannon member, i was completely blindsided by Nightwing's crazy but I'm not mad at him for it, it just is what it is lol.

I also think everyone is going to come away from Elims with a very different experience. One of my friends who is very casual and also new wanted to get the 50 hits and 5% merit. In the beginning they were having no issues but not everybody eats, sleeps and breaths TORN. They started falling behind and also bleeding tickets. Your own team bounties you to stop the bleed. Someone doing 500+ attacks is obviously going to experience this event very differently from somebody who logs in when they can and gets a few hits in. Then you are pressured or harassment to leave. Not everybody wants to deal with that. I bet for them, had their team been eliminated first, they would've had a much better experience. Some people just don't have the mindset like those players with billions in stats and net worth and doing zero attacks...

Personally I’ve enjoyed it. The team spirit, the drama, watching alliances change, trying to guess what the leaders are doing, all of that has been fun.

There's a nice window after St. Paddy's day in March that would be perfect for a March Mayhem bracketed elimination tournament.  Start with the Sinister 16, Evil Eight, Fearsome Four, and finally the Thunderdome to determine the winner.  4 rounds of battles with each team getting 500 tickets and 50 lives (either total, or refreshed to max each round), taking a maximum of 24 hours and 45 minutes per round, followed by a day to restack and regroup.  7 total days for the bracket to play out, plus normal time for signups, voting, and planning.

All in all this year seemed a bit more fun to play and watch than last year, but that's mainly due to smaller core alliances and not due to any admin changes.  A lot of teams have gotten the chance to fight to stay in the competition, instead of the 1vAll steamrolls that happened last year.  Not sure what changes can be done to ensure that the steamrolls don't return.

Why doesn't Elims just start at the Elims period? Rather than having an Attacking period that doesn't seem to bear any influence on the rest of the game. No one wins the Attacking period, sure you may have less tickets or more tickets than others but 24h of energy is wasted for very little gain; other than your own personal pursuit to be the top 5% Attacking player.

Incentivise winning the Attacking period, if you're going to have one at all. Otherwise just scrap it and start taking tickets away from the moment all teams have all their members.

"Elimination is an event that is unmatched in its drama and political intrigue. I struggle to think of any other video game, tabletop game, or social deduction game that comes close in terms of the amount of strategizing, negotiation, planning, coordination, and backstabbing required to win. Elimination makes Diplomacy look like peanuts."

You every play Mario Party with family?

ArthurTv [3995659]

You’ll almost get the same results as elims except it will take much longer to finish, the same top players with insane stats will form alliances and etc to make one of them win

You were sent $1 from someone with the message: The ONE good thing they've done with events, is remove Dog Tags. We don't need it back under the guise of Eliminations 3.0!!

Understandable, but my original comment said something along the lines of "20 lives" - I'd go one better, give 100 lives to level 1, 99 to level 2, 98 to level three and so on, and not only have you got to stay in but also EARN lives...

Less Dog Tag and more Last Man standing...

People will put all of this effort into Elims for no reward. But when it comes to RWs which are paid they will term them to try and min max revenue by fixing wars.
