Wow, we made it so much further than absolutely anyone expected. All week everyone has been telling us they were convinced we'd be out next, and yet we kept making it further and further and further until now.
I'm a little upset that our lizard leader Starkiller isn't the one here writing this, but unfortunately it seems he's completely passed out after a lot of very very long nights surrounded by very little sleep. Hopefully he gets the rest he deserves and can leave some awesome essay here when he wakes back up soon enough, as I wasn't prepared for this and have no idea wtf to say. So you get to listen to me babble instead.
It's been such a journey to get to this stage. The voting period was absolutely hectic, we had two candidates that were neck and neck causing our chats to go absolutely ballistic at each other. That much in-fighting is never a good omen and things were always tense to start out, but it wasn't long before we all straightened it out and focused on a common enemy.
A big shout out to our amazing push captains that had to put up with so much bullshit throughout the week, I know you guys had a really tough job. Even bigger shoutout to our other helpers, from KCB and her "sexy voice chat tutorials" (thanks sugarvalves) to our armoury people dealing with thousands and thousands of items, all of our volunteers that really really showed up. Some of our push captains were putting in long long shifts, dealing with constantly changing orders, trolls in chat, and straight up hostility from some members and they all did really well. I'm not going to list off individuals or the list would get too long and sappy, but you guys know the amazing work you did.
To all our lovely lizard lads, lizard ladies, and lizard......... legends? We're all so so proud of you, us in leadership could not have had a more solid team, you guys should genuinely all be so so impressed with the way you showed up. The heavy hard pushes to keep RS alive for as long as we did, and then pushing ourselves to manage to get SS out, it was all incredible.
I want to give a huge shout out to a couple teams - Rocket Scientists, High Voltage, and Loose Cannons. Together we managed to help LC pull off one of THE most incredible come backs I've ever seen, and I just wish they could have stayed in the game longer to see it. To RS as led by my best friend, I cannot thank enough how fun you were to work with even after we accidentally misclicked and blindsided you earlier. And to High Voltage, I really hope you guys can go on to win it here, you guys really gave it your all to try and keep us alive and I just hope that wasn't all for nothing.
And not to give compliments to the dirty scary opponents, but to SS, you guys have my 100% respect on how you went out. You had two options and chose to go out fighting like true cavemen, and regardless of which side we were on I will always respect you for not selling out for an extra spot. Thank you for giving us so much fun on those pushes, they were brilliant and I can speak for our entire team when I say that we were all losing our minds every single time.
Anyway, I'm going to cut this here otherwise I'll rant for fucking years and you'll never get to the bottom of it. Thank you to our brilliant lizards with their hard hard work, we're so proud of you, and hopefully we're all back again working together next year :)
