WoW Forever...

For those that care, this was announced at BlizzCon this year, also known as Clasic plus...

It's coming soon, 4 November, beta is Thursday this week. Utterly out of no where...

Now I played Vanilla all those years ago and it was wonderful. Mainly as no one had any fucking idea what was going on. No wowhead, you just figured it out...

And the new game looks great, just spunked £52 on it to get beta testing, so I believe in it...

I just don't want it to do through the min maxing that is wow now. Back in the day you helped other players and they helped you and you made friends. The game is aiming for this, but they need to implement two things. No add ons and no reporting classes in end level. As it doesn't matter. If one class performs 1% better than another class, no one needs to know. Just let players play what they want, like back in the day...

So if you were a WoW player back in the day, watch the official videos, not the youtube wannabes...

Never really played wow, played plenty of other mmorpgs. Really excited for this because of progression switch up. Won't do beta though, will wait until the release. Should be alright to scratch the mmo itch while I'm waiting for GW3.

I play wow. Have played since 2008.  Pally tank main. This really shocked me. Because you usually hear hints of something in the makings. Then have to wait 3plus years for a beta.... but not this. Just BAM "SURPISE HERE IS A GAME WE ALREADY MADE" and I am just sitting there wondering how in the hell there were no hints, not a single rumor or leak heard. That was some top notch data protection there. 

It has been hinted at for a while now. There have been product timeline leaks which showed a new wow build. There's also a pattern of Blizzard shutting down big private servers right before launching their own new wow servers: they did the same before releasing wow classic, and they shut down TurtleWoW before wow forever.

Speaking of WoW forever, are there any aussies with a McDonalds app willing to share a beta code?  

I wonder if announcement of GW3 affected this in any way. Hopefully they've had enough time to cook.

Last night was beta launch as was the expected cluster fuck. Late download, 13 minute queue, took 2 steps and was disconnected 3 times in a row, so thought fuck that...

Today though has been very smooth. A log in queue, but not massive and wails fun in the starting zones. Full of people asking questions, and had a nice chat with some dwarves around a camp fire...

The game get's better...

I saw on Arsebook some player boasting he will start at level 30 with BIS gear whilst new players would start at level 1 in November...

Totaly missed the difference between beta and early access...

The best bit was, no one corrected them. Funny as fuck. Can just see this player login on opening day and losing his shit that it's all gone...

This WoW will not quite beat Retail, but it will beat Classic, numbers wise...

But, it is not classic. It plays, at the moment like classic, but it is a different game. There will be none of the expansions, it will play like classic but with new zones and new rules. In a weeks play, it dragged me back 20 odd years, back to when I first started playing...

is this a solid place to start if I've never really touched WoW before?

Pretty sure it's going to be the best place there has been for a while if you want to get into something like that.
