Ah, that explains a lot, I was curious why NW hated MM so much that he was willing to throw away his elim teams chances to win just to spite the team MM was on and not even leading. Ty for the info lol

1. I admitted earlier in the thread that I am not an excellent hitter
2. “Tantrums and trying to sell the team”, I think of it more as revealing that GD had no idea what they were doing, but i respect that it could look like that from your position. But to your second point, seriously, the moment apex passed us, we were dead. I did all my posting after that moment. I’m not sure if I understand how that is selling

In the first days there we're roughlg 2.1k-2.5k players in each team

That is somewhere between 25 to 30k

To account for players that didn't join the discord servers of each faction, and those that left the competition when the option became available, we'll round that number to roughly 20k

I don't know how telecommuncation infrastructure works, and I dropped out in kindergarten, so this conclusion may be inaccurate. But I believe if the majority of these players connected at roughly the same time, they COULD have caused a disruption

Strongly disagree, discord has hundreds of millions of active users (MAU) and would have 10m+ users online at any given time. Ten thousand or so is not making a difference here

Kinda hard to believe this hasnt come out in a Drama Thread,  or maybe it did and i missed it bc old   but can we talk about some teams GD asking for outside help at the end of this comp.Some rumors are about that state that HV actually started this garbage, but cant confirm.

I'm a nice person , so I'm not gonna blast the people that have asked me to do this, but it's more than 1, and a lot more people than me were asked.

Personally, I find this to be gross, and a slap in the face to the spirit of the competition.

When you're out, you're out, jumping back in to do outside hits, whether outta loyalty or just spite, well, its just friggin unacceptable 

Anyone from GD or HV Leadership care to comment on this? If this is what we have come to in Elims, its time to scrap the comp. 

Unsure where you've been but I can distinctly remember this happening at least twice in the past.

Several teams held grudges against specific teams and if given the chance to help friendly team A beat unfriendly team B - why wouldn't you? It's by no means a requirement and just a little fun for the teams eliminated earlier in the comp.

edit: I'm talking about asking eliminated teams to make hits, not merc contracts

Speaking out as someone who was in the room when we hired mercs, I can confirm that we didn't start the whole "merc wars" charade. I'm not personally sure who started it, but before we hired ours I noticed that I was receiving numerous outside hits from known mercs that weren't involved in Elimination as well as several others within the team. As such, faced with no real option to keep up competitively, we ultimately decided to hire them as well.

Personally, I agree that it's a shit move to hire mercs on your opponents. Hiring one on yourself to keep yourself in hosp is one thing, but forcing your opponents to burn med cd on outside hits is just outright lame and reduces elims to nothing more than just a battle to see which leadership has the most money or who can get the most donations.

I think the sad reality is that this is likely the route we're going and we're just going to have to embrace it. I don't like it either, but I feel like this is the future of elims.

Outside hits started as soon as 9L were out, and continued throughout the competition, ending in every team hiring mercs/revs to be able to compete. Bills racking up in billions for all of the involved. 

Its pretty sad that this year's Elims became a pettiness competition, eliminated teams doing whatever they can to help kill the chances of teams that helped eliminate them.

Elims is a competition where deceit is your main weapon, and people getting salty for being played made them end years of friendships. Pretty dissapointig if you ask me, letting Elims diplo get to your head. Its a game after all.

Having said all of this, there is only one thing left to say:

Can't speak for others but BS didn't hire any mercenaries. I'd know since I am/was pretty much in charge of the teams donations/treasury and all of our funds were going towards items and part for energy refills. Unless zuni hired some himself and kept us all (vice captains and rest) in the dark - which I doubt, as we were also monitoring who was hitting us. We did use bounties but to a very minimal degree

I got hit by at least 3 hv ppl after they were out and a few reptilians and im not the only one on my team that was hit by them after they were eliminated. Though I guess I could thank them bc they hospitalized me right when I wanted to sleep so my team didn’t have to bounty me and I wasn’t farmed on during the night. CHOMP CHOMP 

I don't know about others but I kept fighting because it was convienent to finish my missions, I stopped once all my missions were done, it's not worth the energy to help another team win when we got eliminated, training is the better option. 

I can actually attest that there were mercenaries, I even asked them. They were being paid 3m per hit, this was before we even hired our own mercenaries. Ngl if someone asked me to keep hitting for 3m per hit I'd join right back, that's a lot of money.

I can't blame mercenaries for joining back in.

Not leadership in GD, just someone who likes clicking the attack button from time to time. When we were fighting getting our shit wrecked by APEX, I have vague recollections of someone saying we should ask other teams for help. I don't recall if it was anyone in any sort of authority, tbh (though I do know it wasn't twat or Thrie). 

But you know how it is. With 1400+ people in a group, a lot of people make recommendations of varying quality and others will act on them without follow up. Any which way, I agree with you--I think Elims should be a slug fest from the people who are actually in the competition without outside/eliminated interference. 

Also... "I'm a nice person..." This whole time I thought your name meant Unkind Mike, but does it secretly/not-so-secretly mean Mathmatically-AverageMike? It's too early for these shattering revelations.
