We should talk about politics and religion in everyday polite society as a normal day-to-day thing i.e. with strangers.
I think that making these topics taboo (the old "don't talk about politics, religion, or money") contributes to division, tribalism, and the demonisation of the other side.
Yes it means having uncomfortable conversations but it's worth it.

In the past, everyone had been paid a wage for there time, if you had a business meeting or date, to stand out and know your table will be prioritized for best service, it was given before the meal to be priority of the staff not afterwards.
If you did not tip, you are still given good service for a little patience,
Now days as costs of living increase, jobs pay slightly more to appear profitable and have the requirement it is not ok to accept tips, or the employee can now be fired.
Sadly there are those in a business that may be dependent on the tips and support from there customers.

i agree completely, the owner should be paying a living wage, tipping was originally for showing that a waiter/waitress did a really good job, and i thin if it stayed at that it would be good, but if the owners take money out of their pay expecting tips, it defeats the whole purpose
