Bullet Chess

I like chess and i think it will be a great addition to torn.

Also it should be bullet chess a 1 minute game as it is fast and can be a great mini game
bullet chess can  also avoid cheater because of its faster timer and slow load of chess engines that was used for cheating.

Torn used to have Chess in the casino, but it was rife with cheaters. Every game turned into either a long drawn out stalemate because both players were botting, or an absolute steamroll because one person was and the other either didn't know they could or just didn't. Best thing you can really do is use one of the online chess services.

That can be countered with bullet chess i played on chess.com and lichess cheaters cannot win against a faster timer hence i suggested it to be a bullet round chess its only 1 minute per round also most chess engine used for cheating like stockfish needs 5 seconds to think of a move add to that the players move which makes it to nearly 10 seconds or less.

You could set up a script to (legally) scrape the page and feed it to stockfish. On the second point, you can adjust the amount of time stockfish is given to think. At the very least, it'll give you much better moves than you could come up with on your own.

stockfish with not enough time to think is worse than a player that any normal rated player can just beat it easily.

it's not better moves its just random when you lower its thinking timer even kids i taught how to play chess know better.

Stockfish with instant response hits an elo of around 1000 from what I can find. Stockfish with the average human reaction speed of 250ms (0.25 seconds) would still wipe the floor with most players, and of course, still lead to stalemates with other botters.

As I said before, at this point, your best bet is to just use the already existing chess services. Even looking past the functional and fairness issues that Torn would experience, part of the issue is that Torn just... doesn't really need chess... I'm always a little surprised to know that it had chess at one point. Chess is a strictly skill/strategy based game. Nothing else in Torn is like that, except maybe the item market. Everything else has some level of random to it, especially the casino, where chess used to be located. It doesn't really fit the game style.

Stockfish with a low amount of time to think is still smarter than a human with a low amount of time. The only way to make cheating low would be to use complex analizing system the way chess.com does, but thats too much code for a mini game.

When is the bullet ant update coming out? Bullet peppers? Bullet time? Bullet coffee? Do you kinda see where that logic breaks down?

I really hope you're joking. The only way you genuinely think that's true is if you're stuck in 1500-1800 elo hell because you aren't actually thinking moves ahead and implementing strategies into your play. Yes, there's more instinct and skill than in regular games, and certainly more than in correspondence games, but to say that there's more instinct/skill than strategy is just wrong.

I know a lot of people might use AI to cheat, but we’re just a group looking to relax and have fun. It’s really enjoyable when you play purely for entertainment without high-stakes prize money involved.

Then just play on one of the chess sites. The only reason for adding it to the casino is so you can bet on it.

I mean, this feature doesn't necessarily have to be in casinos. Wouldn't you rather relax and do something fun with your online friends or friends from your faction? I think lighthearted games are perfectly fine, whether it's chess or other casual games.

So again go play something different with your friend somewhere else. Jesus what is stopping you from adding them on chess.com and playing with them?
