Banning of third party casinos

I’m down for banning anything out of game that gives in game advantages. Whether you agree or not, it is a form of RMT and should already have been bannable.

In what way are casinos related to Torn? If selling feet pics to gooners is real money trading, so is selling play tokens for an external game.

These casinos should have already been banned for being real money trading and advertising a third party game.

this is going to affect way more than just gambling discords. any service that deals with public funding such as loss selling, od insurance, bank slot sellers etc could be sent into a gray area due to this ruling. they say it wont but watch. it will 100 percent affect any of us who run services like these. simply due to the fact any torn player could commit rmt then use one of our services, we may not know they did rmt but when the money is traced it comes to us so we could be falsely banned just for offering public services. may be a bad explanation my bad lol

Repeating a few questions from my earlier reply since you accidentally omitted the responses to those.

   1. Can you please explain how service payouts = promotion? A payout requires an existing participant. Existing participant knows about the service. You cant promote the service to someone that knows about the service.
2. Have you considered (you started the thread by stating "we discussed" but have later pivoted to "you are banning these services") regulating instead of restricting?
   1. If someone wants to operate a "games of chance" site they would need to adhere to rules set by Torn. Stuff like exclusion options, play limits, verifiable odds (via commitment systems for example) etc
   2. Not much extra policing on Torn's side really necessary. The community, especially competitors, would weed out the non-adhering sites real fast and report their operators.  
3. Why not letting them operate, as long as they dont advertise? (Meaning not including the payouts=promotion absurdity). You are confident that 99% of them would die if not allowed that so why not just let them do that?

selling raffle tickets for an ingame item Xanax, sending the winner a prize that is another ingame item such as a cache, both are torn items so related to torn. not all of us operate 3rd party websites, i use discord to host raffles on the side for people, and the bot i use i found online and i have no way to rig

First of all, I don’t mind updating the rules to make it less lucrative to run casinos on the side. But you need to look at the root cause of why these casinos started popping up in the first place.

Sure, vibe coding has made it a lot easier, but we’ve always had a plethora of competent coders making third-party tools for this game. So why didn’t they code these casinos 10 years ago? Why has this become a problem now?

Because the Torn casino itself f*#ked up the economy.

In a game that used to be promoted as a crime-based game, with a focus on conflicts, wars, crimes, and grinding your way to the top, it sure is starting to feel more and more like I'm playing an online casino game with a crime theme. And I'm not particularly fond of online casino games.

1. First, you have the casino junkies buying DPs to funnel their gambling obsession. If you’re at all worried about compliance issues, start by looking at your own casino first. I assume that’s a much bigger issue in terms of exploiting gambling addicts than the external sites, simply because of the massive revenue it generates.

2. Secondly, the RR module has always been shady. I’m sure you’ll say that all RR cheaters and RMT transactions are caught by your anti-cheating bot. And who knows, maybe that’s true, but I digress. RR should simply be removed from the game, period. Or, better yet, make casino $ a play-money currency that you can’t use to buy anything in the actual game. I understand that it can’t be reversed now, since the massive profits you make from running a casino within the game (or a game on top of the casino, depending on your perspective) are very hard to give up.

3. Last but not least, if you’re a half-decent online poker player, you’re basically guaranteed to win in Torn. It has reached a point where you barely ever have to bother excelling in any other areas of the game, as long as you keep winning at the poker tables. Because the money you make from hustling poker noobs and whale addicts for an hour or more each day will allow you to buy the best gear in the game, expensive boosters, SEs, and anything else you fancy.

But let’s not be negative here. It sure is nice that you’re addressing one of the symptoms of the root problem. I doubt it will make much of a difference in the end, but why not give it a try and see how it goes?

are discord raffles entirely banned? are bank slot services banned? any player in the game can commit rmt then use any service and the service provider would have no clue. i sell bank slots as a primary service and host raffles on the side to keep people interested thru discord with a bot i found on top.gg. i do want to know how or if this affects me at all

previously i started offering paid advertising pages for 25m a week or 27 xan a week, the same concept places like tornstats uses and a few other sites. is this also bannable?

why exactly is a discord raffle banned when a forum or newsletter run one isnt. the drawing would rely on a tool outside of torn anyways, why does that matter here? at least some of us use bots that are actually fair and arent made by us, and cant even be rigged. thought torn didnt moderate discord, and the raffles are purely using torn items so it should fall under being torn related
