If a team cant turtle, regroup and recover some cd then how would that even be exciting and fun, the team with start timezone advantage will just sweep through without getting to experience any fun in war. It will just turn into a farmfest instead of an active war

i didnt say no turtling my point was for excessive turtling as for Timezone advantage i think we was pretty matched on our timezone coverage you might of actually had a more active nightshift
but in other factions such as smth where they are all on 1 timezone and turtle hard for the rest thats not a fun war for most people so my point there would be for factions to get better coverage so earring can be done throughout i know easier said than done as we constantly trying to strengthen our nightshift
anyway i didnt mean for this to become a big debate i just wanted to vent some frustrations there alot of imporvements that could be made to RW i just dont think anyone is going to or want to listen
Good fight, won't take anything away from it - both sides put it all out there - quite proud of the crew overall.
But help me out here, what is the difference between mercing 97% of a roster 100% of time versus an active turtle ?
To me, these both look like a turtles except in the case of mercing, you're paying for it.
It's like saying when you pay for a prostitute, it's not sex - I just ain't buying it.
Rank war ain't perfect, but we, the citizen of torn city, can definitely affect how wars are fought - for example, we chose couple years ago never to term wars... and here we are, fighting in D3, with the best of the best !
Look forward to the next fight !
ABBA !
damn im well over my quoata of posts this month
id like to see merc hits removed as well lock us in a bubble and let the damn thing play as it plays i said you guys played the game we got so did we
Also a reply to Dracula's most recent post, albeit a timezone will gain favour initially via my suggestion however don't they do so already? Counter measures exist such as runs of mugging or hours in advance hosping.
Saying that, both above would likely become redundant at that point. Timezone and the day will always play a part in wars. There's no middle ground & the likely response to whatever we suggest(ie, no mercs for X period or popped to Ok status) will likely be deemed as "if it's not broke don't fix it".
So at what point do your stats, gear setups, planning, counter-planning etc all come into effect except for the standard "let's wait for their downtime" - by which point most facs turtle up anyway one way or another(mercs, inside hits, war hits used as turtling, bounties etc).
The principle use of ranked warring does not get used because terming will inevitably always exist in some form & turtling will always be a thing. Removing the initial pre-war stage will actually see wars engaged in a better manner to perhaps again, encourage folk to test themselves as a unit instead of "ok we'll take participation/x%.. gg go next".
Ps, not stirring stuff betweem you all. Just figured I'd chip in with my thoughts to a comment that I do agree with.
Green_Revolver hospitalized PaperTown(+16.78)
You were sent to the hospital for 6h 14m : Hospitalized by Green_Revolver
You even have extra hospitalisation merits.
Thanks for the free turtle, I guess?

Guess my thing is both do the pre-war hits, hosps muggings etc. and whatnot but if neither did it, it might shift some numbers around but would it ever actually impact the end result if both agreed not to? Unlike Green_Revolver I'm looking more at the lining mercs pockets aspect than the turtle aspect TBH, more of a supercharge the start a bit vs freezing it.
As an additional not as I'm DA I'll just say I think this would also mostly disadvantage DA a bit since wars usually start in our weak time zone. I just think at some point mercs revives etc. are taking too big a cut and something to push that down a notch for both facs aint bad, and it does also increase action a bit.
Not too perturbed either way, I tend to give it pretty good in wars, just looking at long term sustainability I'd rather smash faces than term more on the managing funds aspect. As far as funds go though, maybe that's more of a problem for lower ranked facs, I just find the amount of money that goes externally in any war a bit high.
we use reais btw
Four reals?
good price , not even a whole trump buck
Gg good war couldn't do much but i used to be like tht for turtling its a form of tactic like buyung revs and thta the economy of torn right now if we change that it will change a meta and something else might come thats irritating
Either way great victory for you
GG's
my 2 cents is ya'll did just fine considering the stat's imbalance here seya never hopefully ! "except dracular and Stare" you can come again nice people
I still think that there should be a minimum of 8respect base gain no matter the stats during rw. Not solving the boring problem, but would make wars a little bit faster.
just wait till you compare against EUR
Poor Ol Dracula had the life sucked outta him.
I think it would almost always advantage the stronger faction, even if they have less availability at that timezone (unless it's a full-on SMTH-level timezone difference). A starting turtle helps if you're weaker even if you can't drag it into a better timezone - hell, even if you push the war into a worse timezone for you, it's still usually better. At the start of a war both factions know the time for the first push and everyone who can will show up. Only one faction knowing the time for a push is a massive advantage. Even if they signal too much that it's coming, you can't usually ping on anywhere near as many members with 5-10 mins notice as you can get with 2-4 day's notice.
I find the one with higher fair fight bonuses always comes out ahead early in practice, that's why I bet on the lower stat factions in 10k races.
I think that's a bit of a chicken/egg situation. A weaker faction that doesn't have an overwhelming timezone advantage for the war start time won't do 10k races. Most substantially weaker factions in most wars won't, in fact, it just seems like the weaker ones always triumph in cases of non-delayed start because you'd have to be kinda insane not to delay the start as the weaker faction unless you're VERY very sure you can win. There's a few special factions like Ratz that are known for the wild underdog 10k races, but they are the minority, and they will still only do them and not term when the timezone/start day is extremely favourable to them.
