There is. Work ethic. If they have no work ethic do not keep them.
Why doesn't your boss post the question himself? Given that the whole company and staff are all new, maybe you should spend more time playing before asking for improvements that are frivolous. Having own many companies previously, the staff rating is good enough to know if you should keep/fire a staff
