Only shoot one bullet at a time - there is no more strategy than that.
Reasoning - it's random, and a perfectly fair game if you shoot one bullet each time. If you shoot more than one bullet, you decrease your chances - nice to show off with but silly.
Edit: A valid point was raised - if you go second, and you double shoot, it doesn't change the odds (cause its kinda like you just brought the sixth chamber forwards)
The only time firing a double shot does not affect the odds is when you go second, and then each player fires only one shot at a time for the rest of the game.
Ya but that's assuming you know the outcome beforehand. It would be the same thing as saying one person had a 0% chance, and the other had a 100% chance because one person will ultimately win.
Yeah, you're right. Although I now think you can shoot twice on your second turn too (shots 4 and 5), when you go second without affecting the odds. You have a 1/6 chance of losing each shot, and it doesn't matter which 3 you pick.
It would be useful to work out the percentages including double and triple shots. And the chances for the starting player v.s. the player taking the second turn.
In the case of all single shots - it's 50/50. A single double by the 2nd player is still 50/50. A triple by the 2nd player is 33/66 (bullet goes into person 1/2) A double by the 1st is 66/33 (an extra chance for them)
Etc etc - it's just about the number of total chambers you take vs what you leave.
The only real strategy you could use in my opinion, is a martingale sort of thing. Every time you lose you double your bet the next game. Always a chance you run out of money before you get the win.
