I work for an Amusement Park, and I'm saving my job points for the "Free Ride" special. What's a fair base price for the 250 happiness I give out for my 10 job points? Please be specific.
You gotta take in account that this doesn't add to the booster cooldown though, so you could potentially max your booster cooldown and use this, meaning it would be slightly more expensive - in theory -.
You're looking at it wrong, you shouldn't sell "happiness" you should sell the ecstatic merit... the merit for having 99,999 happiness. Save enough points to get someone 45k happiness (assuming they already have 5k from a PI), so get them up to 50k, and then they can use an ecstasy and get the merit.
Make sure you do this quickly and before the happiness resets too ;) (Happiness above max resets at XX:00 XX:15 XX:30 XX:45), so make sure to do it just after a 15 minute mark.
A (drug-using) person would have to give up their current job for minimum 22 days to join a 10* Sweet Shop and get that merit. 30 days if he/she didn't want to use DVDs so as to save booster CD for FHCs or Cans while at 99k Happy.
Most people generate between $1m and $3m per day at their jobs, in terms of salary and specials. So the upper end of that "cost" of switching into a Sweet Shop would be around $90m. Maybe round up to $100m, somewhere in there is a fair price for providing 45k happy.
People pay that much or more for single merits ... think buying Runaways or Killstreaks. If they don't want to pay, they can join a Sweet Shop and do it themselves.

You're looking at 200 days of waiting for those jp...around 5 months when as Handsome Pants said, people are generating 1-3m per day.
The difference is that you're doing the waiting for them which puts you at the upper end. I offered more than I was making per day because I wanted to wait as little time as possible and wanted 5 people to split it for 40 days of waiting.
In the end, it doesnt matter price per happines or money generated per jp but its all about how much people are willing to pay for the honor bar because its a market only one company can provide feasibly and very few people are willing to do so...for now.
If I were you, I would rally some company mates and sell the service while you can get idiots with their money like me still. Each customer only needs the service once, and more people will be willing to sell Happiness the longer they are in that company.
This would only apply if you could supply 45k worth of happy with your job points (need a shit tonne for that).
But in theory, the least you could sell for is 1m per 10 job points, which is at par with how much army spies go for.
Just did a little calculation now, that's 1800 job points to get someone 45k happy. So in theory, the bare minimum you should sell for is 180m (laughing at you a little here cynic with that 50m offer no offence :p).
Ofc this is the bare minimum. 180m wouldn't really make it worth it because of the amount of time you had to wait to actually make something. You should really add an additional charge on top of the 180m for the time it took to stack. So let's put the minimum at 250m.
Then there's the fact that it helps people gain a merit which they otherwise couldn't obtain without sacrificing their current job and luxuries. Adding that to the cost, that puts it at around 300m minimum to give someone 45000 happy.
Then finally there's the advantage that barely anyone can sell this. That puts the supply much lower than the demand, therefore you can increase the pricing accordingly. Had a look at Ceb's post and he's willing to pay 600m in total which is pretty insane cash. Im not sure if most people would pay that much, guess that means Ceb should have a higher chance of finding someone to sell the happy to him ;D
So if I was you I'd stack up 1800 job points and play it patiently, then once you hit that sum, auction off the job points with a starting auction bid of 300m. Highest bidder gets the happy boost.
When you sell it, unless your selling to someone trusted, take half the cash before you boost their happy and half afterwards. That should help to avoid scams.
Hope this helped, it was long as hell to type haha :D
