I've got to attack someone and interrogate them so far though every time I choose the option it fails isit just random or do I have to do something first?

It is random, yes. Just have to keep trying.
Note: (if) you do manage to get the code, make sure to copy it, because it does not show it in the attack log.
its a 40% success rate. i saw 1 of the admins/coders say that in a post in the bugs and issues forum months ago.
It's annoying. It took me three times, while someone else got it first time.
Guess I was too much of a nice guy when asking the subject some questions.
