I need help

This game is a pretty cool one but the learn curve is off the charts. Anyone have any advice?

Use the Tutorials & Guides forum starting with Baldr's guide. The wiki is accessed via the Help button and also has useful information. For more specific questions post in the Questions & Answers forum (after seeing if your question was already answered first). 

After some reading and rereading you'll at the very least know what to do for the next few months during which you will (hopefully) develop some goals you'd like to achieve.

There's definitely a lot to learn but you'll get there over time as long as you stick with it. So many thousands of people have quit after one day because they want everything handed to them...

Don't be afraid to stray from the guides either......play the game how you like!

There is TONS of things you can choose to do or just skip.

Advert posted a beginners introduction. It's a single page, but still worth reading. It's actually surprisingly good for his age.

What I would also say is don't start your own faction if you're a new player looking for advice. Join a friendly but laid back faction who are willing to guide you through the mechanics of Torn while having a great time doing so.
