Many people own a Private Island which increases happiness so if you don't have one, try to aim for that by looking at some money making guides in the Tutorials and Guides section of the forums. A lot of people use the dvds to boost happiness. (although these dvd's are expensive for those that aren't wealthy, they provide a massive jump in happiness) I'm also pretty sure candy provides happiness boosts, however these are much less than what a dvd will do.
Sorry if my lack of information is poor. I'm relatively new and just want to help anyone out as much as possible. Hope this helped. :)
