So this seems really silly to me. Why do revives cost 1m or 1 xanax? Obviously 1m>1 xanax and sure, if you do a revive here and there it doesn't matter but for dedicated revivers, accepting 100 xanax over 100mil would be a loss of roughly 15 mil, so why...?

It costs whatever you’re willing to pay really. Overseas could be over 1 mill. I think revivers prefer the Xanax simply because you can’t be mugged for Xanax.

15% of 1 mil is 150k left is 850k = xanax cost
People usually need revive because of xanax overdose. Meaning that they most likely have Xanax on hand ready.
And the prevent mug reason also, healer don't want to become mug target. Imaging when you have to shout on trade chat and other people think you having millions on hand, they will try to mug you all days -> annoying
Because not everyone will have 1m+ on hand to pay for a revive, but people have tons of xan on them, making it easier to pay, hence paying with xans.
Some people mug after the revive and payment of 1m, so the reviver wants to be protected in these cases, hence asking for 1m.

Seems like you already know the answer. There's no secret here. Yes it's worth less than 1m but it's easy to send, most people have it, most people use it. $150k adds up, sure, but in the long term people probably see more income from accepting a smaller payment than demanding 1m and losing out on sales.
There's also an element of convenience in sending cash if you already have it on hand. You can do that directly from someone's profile, while sending Xanax is done from your items and requires you to enter the recipient's (sometimes convoluted) name to send.
In your country do they have such a thing as cut and paste? ;-)
We do, but our version requires one to print out both pages and physically cut and paste the text, after which we scan the page with the pasted text and the computer fills in the appropriate field. It's a pain, but we have excellent cellular data coverage. Pros and cons.
Serious answer:
On a phone, even copying and pasting someone's name can be more of a PITA than just typing "1m".
But yes, that's true when you're on PC, which is not the majority of my play time.

These days the price of one revive in torn can reach 500k tho. Hang out in hosp and you will see it's true :)
The value of revives is not static Most days you can easily get a free revive without asking if you're hosped for longer than say 5 hours. If there's a major event or a big war demand and prices will go up.

No they aren't static. Especially when I was mad enough to sell them for 400k a pop during the Valentine's event and was flooded with requests that crashed my laptop twice (well lag helped I must admit). Yet a lot of folks didn't even bother to send such a pittence for a revive. It seems paying folks to help you during cetain events is optional to some players. Go figure.
Oh and the free revive thing. It's also nice to say, "Thank you" occasionally. They call that one manners.
I'm not saying what people should do or shouldn't do on either side of the fence, I'm just noting some facts. A revive is not a product that can be sold as any other product, as I wouldn't take a free revive from anyone if I don't need a revive. Revives only have value when there is a real demand for them.

If you DMd me during the aforementioned event then it was a given that I was offering a paid service at a predetermined price. I had advertised my services before hand. What I was poking a funny at, unsuccessfully it seems - I was quite tired, was even though the service was as cheap as chips some lil' scamps whelched out on paying anyway.
A whole lot of lovely people did pay, however, and I made a lot of new friends and had several near miss heart attacks and one or two meltdowns. Other than that, roll on next Valentine's.
I take a xanax as a payment for a revive cos i can get another 10 revives out of it, so its more about future revives than money for me
