So I'm under the impression that early discharge was a way to try to get outside hitters to not affect wars. However people have adjusted and now pay to have their own guys hit so there's no targets available. My suggestion is when someone is in a ranked war - outside hitters can only choose to "mug" or "leave". This way it will make it very hard for outside hitters to lock up your opponent while they sleep nice and soundly instead of warring like they should. I've thought about how to fix this issue and it came to me today as outside hitters were attacking my opponent and keeping them as unhittable for 7 hours at a time. Let me know your thoughts because as people get better at ranked wars it basically forces wars to go forever with virtually little to no activity. Especially in the smaller faction groups where I would assume due to Ranked wars activity has skyrocketed.

These wars are bringing in less and less money as cache prices fall. The prices of paying actually good (fast, decent stats, hosp merits) mercs for long periods are one of the most expensive parts of warring, and for example … - Lewiss [2012107]

The slippery slope argument is dumb, the reason I myself agree with this change is because getting outsiders to hosp your faction for 8hrs at a time is not indicative of your "skill" as a faction, it's say PTs activity … - Scarley [2261969]

in that war you used PT outside hits fairly extensively so i'm not exactly sure what your argument is. ME is far from the first to utilize these strategies. i faced them against silverhand and brazilian unit all the way …

Factions with little to no activity and/or coordination having their members hosp'd for 6-8 hours by outside hitters really takes away from the ranking aspect of ranked warring.
I agree something needs to change.
The idea of only mug or leave might just work.
Imo there should be no outside hits allowed of any kind during RW.
It's starting to take the fun out of RWs and requires no skill , all you need is to pay someone.

What Ranked wars is turning into at the low levels is 1 player along with a contract to hospitalize their entire team. 1 player can protect a team of 15 endlessly. Take a xanax - and hit 16 people and "lock them up" in the hospital for 7 hours. By the time they start coming out again it's xanax time again. How in the world is the opposition team supposed to gain any points much less 1000's in a system like that.
Agreed

Would it not just be possible to make outside hits not possible during the warring period? That way you can only hit the enemy and only recieve hits from the enemy
I would be fine with this but didn't want to hurt muggers feelings lol

I was also thinking no outside hits, but allowing only mug or leave could avoid other unintended consequences. R+
I get where you're coming from kinda, but this seems like another "I don't like a mechanic, so I don't think anyone should be allowed to use it" suggestion. Ranked Wars aren't ranking your stats, or your fighting, or your build. They are ranking your faction's ability to use all of Torn's mechanics better than your opponent can and eek out a win.
I just had a war where the enemy had a player with more stats than my faction, but only 1. He wasn't worth the energy to group, so we bountied. This made his team call in a favor from a friend to proc ED. After he had ED, bounties weren't burning his med cd, but they were making him have to plan his attacks, and act fast to not be interrupted. They essentially nullified him as much as we needed them to, and we took home the win.

How about bounties? If you can`t hosp
i think if we're discussing changing the mechanics of the game to accommodate ranked warring, we've got our priorities backward. all types of attacks are foundational to the torn experience and shouldn't be limited in any instance.
to solve your problem, just be faster than the outside hitters. you've already got the 1% reduction in target score/hour after 24 hours, so if your opponent truly has no activity or coordination, you'll be able to win anyhow.

Disagree. I like my PT hosp contracts. Some people get them for free from friends too. Wanna counter it crank your bank open too or make allies. It's an investment that you can counter by investing in your own contract too or by being very fast or whatever you gotta do.
All it does is stop people from being farmed, it doesn't increase the score or whatever.
In the only loss we had even if we had the contract enemy was too strong that it didn't make sense to burn money anymore and we had to call it off so it's not a game breaker

Bruh... nuthin but love and respect, but ....
You weighing in on this subject is kinda like Ted Bundy weighing in on how to make a girl feel special on the first date ...
No, no, no
You out-of-the-box bastards are the ones who have everyone scrambling to come up with a counter with the crazy shit you have introduced to RW.
Well, everyone except us <3 .. but we had to scramble too for a minute there.

I totally agree with this, my thought yesterday after our ranked war
