So i want to start off by saying how amazing this Halloween has been with 2 M'aol summons so far. Kudos to Heasley4Hemp and Kinzove

Besides the fact that we've collectively decided (why?) to hold hands and follow a strict Praetorian order to ensure everyone has a shot at the relics (again, why?), Cheddard decided to jump in and make sure there isn't any fun to be had in the future with the last 2 patches. As i understand the reasoning for the WLT changes up to a point, what could be the reasoning for rendering DBs useless [even more than they have been for the past year(s)]. Are we to expect a DB overhaul? Was this change really necessary?

Honestly, when you take into account that the summoner has to forgo 9,999 treats and years of progress, for the longevity of the event I don't think its necessarily a bad change

I can understand the vision. At the same time, that's what the WLT buff is supposed to protect. Someone else would be trading 60-80b (or whatever a DB runs for these days) for a mere 4 hour delay in flights, which imo would not interfere that severely with the chances of hitting each Praetorian, but would have been a good topic for shits and giggles.

I could have understood the change if they went through with the Sunken City location (which i'm guessing was supposed to be M'aol's lair).

agree with this take

a DB is really relatively minor unless you're in the targeted faction (and, like, screwing over a specific faction at a critical juncture is the point of the bomb? imagine if warring factions got ED from dirty bombs). Rather than a magic admin-shield preventing bombing, they should just allow it, and let any consequences come from the playerbase (i.e. random people hosping them for about a week, same as if anyone else does something silly)

re: order though, it isn't really to give everyone a "fair shot", it's just that it's easiest to knock NPCs over if you coordinate massing against one at a time (distraction caps at 25 now, but temps/weapon debuffs/etc are still better if you have as many people as you can). There's not much point trying to hunt them with individual factions/alliances since it takes 1.5k people to actually kill them.

Appreciate the response. I didn't follow the discord doing the coordination so from the outside it looked like everyone decided simultaneously to not prioritize relic power but instead a concentrated attack on whichever Praetorian was closest. I for one just went to whatever Praetorian gave relics i was interested in and that was about it. I do miss the mayhem of last year though, being my first halloween and seeing DBs being dropped, destinations being locked down and so on. All i've seen this year was revivers hospitalizing noobs to extort revives from which was hilarious, but nowhere near the level of last year.
