Alcoholics Anonymous -  You are not alone.  There are many addicted to alcohol, I myself am am alcoholic.

I want a thread where we can all come together are support one another.  AA is all about helping others through thier struggles.

We as alcoholics,  understand the hardships that go with sobriety.   Take a moment and share your sobriety stories.  Let other know what helped you through it all.

Alcohol is so accepted in society and its basically everywhere that it makes it one of the hardest drugs to quit.  Take a moment of your day and write some uplifting word and strategies to help others.

4 months sober here.   Was and still is hard but gets easier every week.

My first month or so, I gave my bank card to a loved one and told them to never allow it to me no matter what.   This helped me from going and getting it when I had a craving.

Once I started trusting myself more I got it back.   I found it a lot easier to do without it being around.

Stopped hanging out with those who drank, stopped going to bars and restaurants thst served it.   Stopped going down the aisle in the grocery stores that sell it.

Started walking more. Ate more greens.  When a craving comes it can be intense, just know it does go away and with more time sober under your belt it will be less intense.

Its about getting past those first few months, its not easy.  You may have "slips"  i had three slips in four months but dont let that get you down.  Dont best yourself up.  Get back on the wagon and keep going.

Myself. I was never an angry drunk.  Always a happy drunk, just could never stop once I started.  Those two or three always turning into a case of beer or a bottle of vodka.   Then all plans made were canceled.  Sometimes I didn't go to work.

Its a very selfish drug and it will take everything you love away from you if you continue to let it run your life.

Stay strong and keep at it,   you deserve it and so does everyone around you.   Just know youre not alone,   many people suffer from this disease.

Anyone that needs someone to talk to if they are struggling please feel free to contact me through a DM.

67 days since my last drink.

Sobriety is possible, and life is still just as exciting and fulfilling without it.

Do I miss being able to drink? Yes.

But I have found out to be true that I suffer from an "allergy". Very much like a food allergy, if I come into contact with alcohol, there is a chance that I may have severe consequences and reactions.

It may not happen every time, but it is very much like playing RR with a loaded gun pointed at my relationships, family, health, and even life.

As they also used to say, "I may not get into trouble all that often, but every time I did, alcohol was involved."

It's been a learning experience, not very pleasant, but I'm grateful I still get the opportunity to learn.
