“Hard to believe Uncle Danny is really gone!” Red said to himself as he reach for the bottle of Jameson.
Red poured 2 double neat while shaking his head. He raised his glass to no one and said “Here’s to you Uncle Danny. You took me in and give me guidance when everyone else had turned their back on me.”

After downing his drink, Red looked at the clock, 8:09 am, he wasn’t sure what his next move was but he figured now would be a good time to go take a look around that old dump of a arehouse. Maybe he could move whatever was inside and then burn the place down. He could take the insurance money, leave Torn in his rearview and start fresh somewhere new.

Red grabbed his keys and left his modest apartment. He didn’t even bother locking the door, anything he had was replaceable and he didn’t anticipate needing any of it in the near future anyway.

As he made the drive to the warehouse, thought of different ways to burn the place down without any red flags. As he pulled in to the property he shook his head wondering why his uncle gave a fuck about this place. He eased to a stop and shit the car off.

As Red walked up to the side door, he realized there were cameras mounted to the building covering everything angle, then he realized once reaching the door, even this door looked like this place was filled with something of value.  “What is so important in this place that justifies this level of security?”

Red unlocked the 3 deadbolt locks and turned the handle. He had expected for the door to make a racket as he opened it, he expected wrong, the door swung open as smooth as butter.

He had never actually been in this shithole, but he soon realized the place was in far better shape than he thought. The warehouse was divided down the middle with a large wall, as he reached the light switch and cut it on he saw that the wall was not actually a wall but a large structure that looked to be one of the large wall in coolers he had even seen.

”What were you up to Uncle Danny?”
Red decided he would check out the rest of the warehouse after checking out the office. When he got to the warehouse office he realized this too was locked down tighter than a preachers wife’s legs. Sitting on the desk was an invoice telling him his suspicion was right, that is a walkin cooler taking up half the warehouse. He then started rummaging through the papers on the desk and soon saw what his uncle was up to. He was in the process of turning this place into some kind of black market blood bank. He even had a few contacts written down who a deal had already been worked out to buy blood by the barrel!

“How the hell were you going to get barrels of blood to sell?” Red had to admit he was a bit freaked out and wondered if his Uncle was part of some satanic cult or possibly worse!

Red had had enough for today, he needed to get home and wrap his head around this whole plan. He grabbed the stacks of paper off the desk and locked “The Fort Knox of Blood” back up and made the drive home

There's a heavy cargo plane, covered in military writing and a logo that nobody recognises, that touches down, just on the east side of the TC airport. Far end of the runway. An olive green sedan approaches, three people inside, unknown to the world as some kind of task force. probably. There's the same symbol on the back of the car, by the number plate, that there is marked on either side of the plane.

An alarm noise starts to blare as the ramp at the back of the plane lowers. The vehicle approaches and parks a few dozen meters away, while the trio exit the vehicle. Once the ramp drops, a group exit with a pallet on wheels, a few soldiers exit and stand to the side as a troop transporter slowly rocks out with low, yet loud hum of the engine, before coming to a halt, just to the right side of the plane.

Out of all the notable events, the shady military plane, the random sedan, the soldiers...
A woman slowly walks down the ramp, talking to one of the flight crew.
"So, how long are we expecting to stay in town? Or are we basing up out here?"

"You, are part of the Torn crew now. There's already a place set up, its some office building on the outskirts. Bit... Questionable. But. one of the perks of being here is, in this town, no need to go around in those fuckin cars with GTI plastered all over it. I think they're rocking this as more of a trial, but we're a lot more low profile down this way, Lina."
The older man responds, taking off the pilot helmet

"So, this is permanent? But..."
She pauses, her right hand shifts to meet the skin of her neck, before scratching gently

The older guy stops, stands beside her and gently rests a hand on her shoulder.
"Hey. Give it a few months, you'll end up being transferred back out to Ahsarah... don't think of this as a final resting place for you, girl. You're still young. GTI have 'enemies' all over... Havvk are apparently operating out this way too, but. that's a story for another night. For tonight, I want you to just. go. hit the city, see what its like. See that sedan over there? That's yours now. There's a hotel booked for you out by some place called wood's tavern. it's a little down the street a ways. But pop in there, they may be some people to get to know, I'm not sure."

"Yes sir."
The woman responds timidly, before stepping back
"And don't try to comfort me. I'm not some doll that needs a plaster."

He steps back, bringing his hands away

"Okay, okay. my bad."

On the drive home from the warehouse, Red had noticed a plane landing out at the airport. The plane or it landing wasn’t unusual, what was unusual were all the military markings on the plane.

“This is something I’m going to need to look into.” Red thought aloud to himself.
“With a plane that large landing, there is bound to be operators touching grass in Torn City.”

Pulling up to his house, Red decided a drink and some people watching would do some good with the current situation. He needed to find out what that plane was about. He also needed to figure out if he wanted to move forward with Uncle Danny’s plan for the warehouse.

Red knew venturing into the dark depths of underground blood selling would require help. This help would come in the form of some extra muscle as well as figuring out where to procure the volume of blood needed for this operation.

“Fuck it, this shit can wait for tomorrow. Tonight I need a drink, some distraction and to get some intel of that plane. Woods will be a good place to start.”
