If it was a low level OC (so basically not PA) it's weird they would fine you. There is definitely a lesson to be learned here about making sure you are available for them when they're about to be ready. 

In my opinion though, any decent faction would help explain the reason to you as a new player and make sure you understand and can learn. Rather than giving you an obscene fine and kicking you.

I would also expect them to give warnings e.g. 1st warning (+ explanation of the importance of being ready), 2nd warning ( + fine ), 3rd and final warning or just kicked. 

Just find a better faction.

It would be interesting to see a new company formula that takes in stats and salary as a component to employee "effectiveness".

That would mean higher pay = improved individual employee effectiveness = better company performance = higher profitability for the company.

(I know I'd work harder if I was earning more money!)

As far as I'm aware, employee pay doesn't impact their effectiveness? 

Issue would be and overall increase to raw TCD into the economy. Unless you offset the amount the owner of the company makes, which in some cases can already be low and would make the effort needed to maintain your company less appealing. 

Otherwise other parts or the game would need to be cannibalized in order to bring down or control that inflation.

So yeah, Ched shouldn't touch it realistically.

So I thought we were talking about actively working for money vs passively doing nothing and getting free money - slightly off topic from the original threads aim of discussing companies 2.0 anyway. 

I would argue the energy used in a rank war, if done specifically with the goal of obtaining money at the end, is an investment as valuable as putting money into stocks or a bank. If you are talking strictly "money in vs money out" then multiple stock blocks or leasing houses might be king. 

Keeping on-topic of the original post though. I do think Ched shouldn't touch companies. 

Maybe our ideas of passive and active income aren't aligning very clearly here.

Active to me is: Ranked War, Escapes, Loses, running a company, doing revives, mugging, being a trader.

Passive would be stock blocks: (FHC. Drug pack etc), bank investment with maxed merits, long-term investments in certain items. Being an employee at a company.

Unless you have 10s of billions in these passive investments, so that stock blocks are paying out multiple times, ranked war will be a far superior earner. 

I've been making 25m per day doing escapes for 500k each, so I imagine ranked war pays up to 100m per day. (I've been told upwards of 2m per hit).

But even if it was half that, you aren't going to beat that passively without a significant upfront investment. Completely unobtainable in the timescale you are talking, unless you win the lottery or buy DPs.

If I missed a huge passive earner though I would love to know so I can do it too.
