Joke: Harambe isn't dead.... It's a conspiracy that involves the beginning of the Planet of the Apes.

Looking for a faction for me and a few of my mates. Message me :)
Things we are looking for:
- Low to no warring. Or at least low expectations for war
- OC payouts >80%
- Chains are fine :)
- 1m respect … ish?
We’re a mainly OC, training, and money focused bunch. But we do occasionally like to war when we aren’t busy irl.
is in need of a dictionary indeed.

At least we have new pics of planes. ✈️ That’s what the people were asking for. Right?
Interaction Logs on profiles have def been my favorite. Arson was nice. Very unique compared to the other crimes.
I too am indifferent to high-res models and the new OCs.
I know we are all longing for new significant updates… another crime, mission givers, Travel 2.0, something, anything?…
Anyway, just wanted to start a thread to see what your favorite updates (if any) to Torn have been in the last year. Thought it might be a nice way to reflect on recent changes instead of pining away for what’s ahead (like I usually do haha). Also might be cool to see anything I might have overlooked.
A New Mission Giver ideally should’ve happened years ago (a decade ago?). I have new players all the time ask me how to unlock the others and I just kind of giggle. Of course I would love another Crimes 2.0 crime, but having lock symbols as pictures over other future Mission Givers and Progress Bars for Duke implies that we should have been getting them soon… Its many years overdue now. I just assumed it wasn’t happening. I think the oddest part about all this is that if there wasn’t an announcement about it and if there were no lock symbols, I probably would’ve just been content with George/ Anonymous as Tutorial Man and Duke as Mission Giver. I think if it’s not planned to be released in the next 6 months to a year, lock symbols should just be deleted.
Were the Mission Givers just a scrapped project? Does anyone know?
I appreciate the effort to revamp the two systems (bazaar and item market). LOVE the filters the item market offers now. Excellent addition there, especially when you are looking for specific weapon characteristics. I believe my friend King-Crimson had a forum post suggesting a filter addition to the Item Market a long time ago... Chef's Kiss But as for my playstyle, bazaars basically became useless for me to make any kind of sale or purchase with. I'm just not really interested in constantly managing a shop or promoting one. I usually sell stock payouts in bulk, but not on a regular basis. Since the update, I've found myself not using the bazaar feature at all. I don't find myself looking at other's bazaars or selling on my own. I typically just trade because its fast, easy, avoids the sales tax, and fits my playstyle. The Sales Tax addition didn't really incentivize me toward bazaars, it just kind of felt like punishment for using the revamped Item Market. I know that's not how it was intended, but that's what my daily in-game habits tell me. I find myself avoiding bazaars and only using the Item Market when I want to buy specific things. And as a consumer, manually searching for discount bazaars is a nightmare when you want something specific. I just don't have the time to invest in all that. For me, its a bit tedious. But maybe I'm thinking about it in the wrong way. I can definitely see why many use TornW3b and other API tools. It circumvents a new aspect of the game that, from my perspective, feels dull and consumes time.
TLDR: I'm sure the intention was to serve two different playstyles: Bazaars = managing personal stores to avoid tax, Item Market = convenience (with a tax). I just like convenience for this game mechanic. And judging by how many use API tools to get around the Bazaar in-game structure, most of Torn likely prefers convenience for this aspect too.
My Likely Bad, Wild, Hair-brained Suggestion: Reinstitute the old hybrid Bazaar structure with the cheapest listings at the top of the item market (I liked that version lol). Instead of using a "punishment-based" system like Sales Tax, use an Incentive-Based system. With the hybrid model, no one really used the Item Market, right? Everyone clicked the cheapest bazaar. So Item Market usage would need to be incentivized. What if you slapped the Item Market filter features on the bazaar directories (probably completely unfeasible and unrealistic to program... sorry devs), then made the Item Market a place for issuing bulk Buy-Orders? Instead of waiting for someone to manually list an item you want, you place a standing offer into the market. Example: You want Xans. Current Bazaar prices: $830k, $835k, $840k. But your cheapskate ass thinks: "I only want to pay $820k." So you place a Buy-Order on the Item Market indicating you want to buy Xanax at $820k for a Quantity of 100... or 1000... or whatever. The system holds your cash. If anybody decides, "I want instant money" or "I'm okay selling at $820k", they can instantly sell into your order. In other words, the Item Market would become a place where players can instantly convert assets into cash without manually matching with another player. Bazaars would be good for maxing sale price and passive retail selling. Item Market would become good for instant liquidation, bulk acquisition, and automated trading.
Is this suggestion feasible to program? I have no idea.
Would it work or crash the economy and cause a Torn City Armageddon? Idk my bff Jill.
I'm an idea man. Never said I was a good one.

Not sure if there are others that have noticed this. Books only appear in the Mission Credit Store for me once a month IF a book was not given as that month's subscriber gift. Alternatively, one will appear in the city if neither of those two instances occur for the month.
Kind of an irrelevant and obvious finding but I wanted to see if others had experienced this same phenomenon. #LateNightConspiracyTheories #TornDeepState
Lmfao!!! Spouse’s name: gopoopinahole
That got me. I’m a simple man of no taste
Mobile version isn’t great. Def need a Closest To Achieving filter. And, the ability to pin certain ones like YATA
My unsolicited advice for my fellow men out here:
Take some intentional time this month to do some manly shit. Make something out of wood, smoke a cigar, down a beer, watch a Western/action movie, go hunting or fishing. f**k it, do them all at once.
Society forces men to be more effeminate. You always hear about Toxic Masculinity, never Toxic Femininity. Men are punished for being men. Courage, aggression, that undying need for adventure are all stifled and devalued in modern society. We all end up playing video games as an outlet to express these traits.
I think the biggest mistake females make looking at Men’s Mental Health is that they assume our mental health can be helped the same way as their’s. They want us to talk more about our feelings and increase our emotional intelligence by tapping into our affective side. While that may work for a few, most men will not and cannot be reached meaningfully in this way. Give a man the freedom to feel in control of his own life and destiny, and watch his mental health improve.

Just 90 NNB for me haha
I love the visual updates to the game. Not a fan of the addition of a ton of items that don’t do anything. But hopefully most will have purpose down the road. The faction territory and war structure does feel a bit stale. I don’t have any ideas for improvement though.
I liked the addition of more mission givers… but then they never gave us missions. Don’t know what happened there. I hope those get expanded in the near future. It’s always made the game feel unfinished when you go to the missions tab and see all the other mission givers slots perma-locked besides Duke and George.
Halloween Basket event has been pretty cool. Same with CT.
Unimpressed with the AI commercials for Torn tho
We need to hire Christian Slater to do an ad like The Office did for Sabre. Or at least hire Sydney Sweeney to play the part of Chedburn’s long lost lover who just could never get over him. So now she plays Torn… just to feel his presence.
