seriously, that picture is quite disturbing, having to see again every time. Would it be possible to edit and take it out? Since people are talking here, it's only going to get more and more downvotes.
I don't feel panicky when i see naked people, but it makes me mildly uncomfortable. I sincerely think toplessness is inappropriate for men also on the streets and such public places. Yes, for movies and beaches it's different, because i can prepare mentally or choose not to go, especially if they have a rating system (nude beach or PG sth).
i'm not sure. Mostly it depends on the circumstances i guess. That ken-doll up there isn't bothering me, since it doesn't look like a real person.
I guess it's related to intimacy. When someone suddenly takes a shirt off in front of me, i have to turn around, because i feel it's too intimate to keep talking like that. But when i was in Austrian sauna, i got used to nakedness in about 1 hour and then it was unimportant.
The first picture was also too intimate, i think if it was a picture of the same guy in brightly lit open area, with other people around, it would have bothered me less or not at all.
Well here American culture is seen as the main culprit for the increasing openness about sexuality. American movies have nakedness. So i wouldn't agree that america is so uptight. Perhaps some regions?
I don't remember the times when I was so young that I was running around naked.
it's not making it any better if it's hot. 0% improvement. I would understand if the question was the other way around, then there would be something to think about at least. But I guess it wouldnt matter either way.
yes, well, there isn't really anything so special about men. I'd say naked women are just as disturbing as men and I do have to see them every time I go and shower in public places such as a pool or gym. So when men and women are mixed like in the saunas, at first there might be the element of discomfort because of habbit, but afterwards only the general (small) discomfort of naked people remains, like always in public showers.
See, i put a link to messages in my sig, so you can have conversation with me. I also like discussing my own and human psychology and wondering why it is like it is.

Yes, api is a good feature, but i don't see a guide to using it and what functions are available through it. Is there a page somewhere?
The reasons why i need a guide: Firstly, if i'm going to use someone else's software, i have to at least know what the'll have access to. Secondly, to know if i want to make something with it, i would need to know the exact capabilities. So specs please :D
thank you! i'm eternally grateful, now i can use this for various other things as well! I just wish there was such an option in real life too (like when a classmate is very proud of having chest hair)
yes yes, it has to be equal, but i think the activists aren't thinking about it being equal for all ages and all sizes. For me, they are all uncomfortable but many people seem to be pleased by some and uncomfortable with others. Probably it would be ok by me even if everyone was allowed to go naked suddenly, but only because most people still won't.
When i was in Austria, i noticed that everyone was naked together in saunas. So perhaps such in-the-middle solutions would be better at first, only in some areas/places, so people would be used to naked bodies before they start coming up in various public places.
people are having hard time to believe evolution, because they imagine the jump from another ape to us just happened in 1 generation. As if suddenly there was a hairless baby. But in fact it happened over several generations and the other apes that are living right now have also grown further apart from our common ancestor.
Anyway, what is really interesting (perhaps even more difficult to believe) is our ancestor during the jurassic era. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eutheria So yeah, basically saying we have evolved from apes is just as good as saying we have evolved from rats :D Or you could say that apes have evolved from us. (Assuming by apes the person means other apes besides us)
But i don't see that evolution and religion have to be mutually exclusive. If i was religious, i would see the miracle of evolution as god's way of creating the world. You can even say that's where big bang came from. Furthermore, if this complex system that is presented by science is how god created earth and us, then how could it possibly reach paper in the times when religious books were written, there would surely be someone in the middle to fix it so people would actually believe/understand.
I don't think it's such a miracle that people evolved, it's not more impressive than elephants evolving. I don't really see why people think they are so special anyway. Yes, they are the most intelligent species, but who says intelligence is the most important characteristics? (other than humans) :D

I guess you just have to try some different things then. In these areas people are having such different opinions and reactions, i can't even recommend anything. There are some who are so extreme, saying all the things radiate and it's all so bad you must move to a forest. Some who want to sell magical devices that make it all better and also some who say that none of that radiation does anything bad. I'm mostly leaning towards the last group, but i also believe people when they say for them it causes headaches and such. So i guess it's just something that is individual and you should try something and see if it helps. That screen cover seems quite reasonable, like something i would also try it it's just the eyes that are problematic.
Also, maybe try turning down the brightness if you are in darkness and try using lights in the background? As it was mentioned by other people, the radiation itself is minimal and i think there is more radiation coming from the wifi piece anyway than the screen. Perhaps the knowledge of the doctor is from the crt-screen era :)
I remember when i was a kid i was warned about reading in darkness because it's bad for the eyes to strain them. So i think it might just as well be just the reading part. Perhaps you can also just try a bigger zoom level with a browser? (or any other programs you might be using) See how the visibility is from your screen and if you often have to come closer to the screen to see something, you might need a bigger screen :D or to lower the resolution, maybe.
i forgot to add that this is the case for most people i know (watching american movies). American movies are much more common than Estonian or European in cinemas too. So pretty much any culture than comes from movies, comes from american movies. Therefore it matters little what European movies have.
Although Turkish soaps are all the rage among older people at the moment.
yeah, i guess some french movies are like that. Perhaps it's a case of mass-market vs art movies? Unfortunately though, i haven't seen a lot of European movies since it's easier to watch something in English. I guess Europe might also be more fragmented culture-wise because of language. I'm from Estonia and i don't like to watch Estonian movies either, because the sound quality is often uneven and i can't understand what they are saying :D
It's funny for me that foreign films are considered fancy because all films are foreign to me, i'm so sophisticated lol.
So it's a circular effect, Europe affecting America and America affecting Europe :)

i don't agree, i think a lot of them are very good drawing-wise, even better than the ones that are accepted. I think there might be other issues, like: 1. being careful about racism/sexism and such, so if there is any doubt, they reject (Warlord2k's japanese guy maybe) 2. the moderator doesn't get the joke, so just in case, they reject (this is the safer option after all) (Warlord2k's alien maybe, what's the deal with that alien anyway?) 3. graphics, yes, but not for most of them (Warlord2k's is good i think, you can even see expressions)
But for some comics i seriously have no inkling what could possibly be the cause. Like the dumpster find, it's not hard to understand and i can't see how it could be offensive to anyone.
I'm not using a radiation blocker on my laptop but my eyes are watery when i go outside and there is wind or sun or cold so who knows, maybe i need one :D
I agree about Pratchett. He's the only author i have liked all my life. I mean that i liked his books since i was a child, not that i have never like any other authors.
I find it difficult to find any other humor-fantasy, especially since i don't like dark stuff and people dying too much. Most fantasy books that i like, just end up being light-hearted instead of outright funny.
