Apparently they got sick of PC players pirating their releases, so they put things on console first and then release on PC a bit later. RDR1 on the other hand apparently had some really messy code that would be a crazy amount of work to tidy up for a PC release so they haven't bothered to ever port it over.
But GTA V must have made them an incredible amount of money on PC so I can't imagine RDR 2 not coming over... It better, let's be honest >:O

Maybe admins can spend this next year working on a system that emails everybody about a xmas item every day for months in advance, and then maybe a call to your home/cell phone when they're releasing it. And then of course they'd release 1 every hour for 750 hours so that we can all sit there refreshing the page for days, which sounds like fun! Good suggestions guys...

This slight change could let people invest merits to make things easier, as well as boosting that merit use a bit, since it's currently way less useful than other enhancements you can use merits on.
Could investing more merits also make the item icon on the map get bigger? 10/10 could maybe let a sharp eye find them at only 1 level of zoom. This would let lazy people happily waste their merits to avoid hours of mousing around for items. Cheers

Shout out to aurigus (who hosted tcbasic), Krueger, Brian, Bernkil and all my NZ buddies who are mostly just memories on Torn: Cutie69, donfardz64, True-Enemy, Fused, SwimmytheTurtle, JellyBeanPimp. I must have forgotten hundreds of people I had nice interactions with.
Torn City (don’t @ me about this ‘Torn’ business…) was such a big part of my life for all of my teen years. Not just playing, but being able to contribute via tcbasic. It helped me discover that my pretty niche skills and interests - patience, a love of data, and a decent amount of OCD/hyper-focus, and information management/organisation - are valuable to the community at large.
TC helped me into graphic design studies (where ordering information is a useful interest, but also thanks to a life spent pirating Photoshop to make TC sigs!), and now I freelance. My favourite ongoing client is MusicBrainz, a open source music data website… I first started contributing design, branding and data entry to their github for free, similar to tcbasic. They’re across the pond but interacting online is something I’m used to, obviously - and I get the occasional paid flight to Spain or India!
It’s always nice logging in every now and again to see (after clearing out all the begging and faction/company emails haha) how far TC has come, I’m always impressed, some of the updates are sick, and the UI really is amazing. You lot don’t know how good you have it!
What I will say is that there are times when I used TC to avoid life, rather than to enrich it. If you are able to identify that you’re in that situation, relax, that faction or missing energy/trains isn’t the end of the world, don’t be afraid to step away, TC won’t go anywhere, and you will end up playing for longer in the end.
If it ends up being smooth I think seeing people around will be fun. In particular because people will cluster around interesting things/ you can follow people. Opens up a lot of other opportunities as well.
I think the map is a little bit confusing. With all the other effects/textures going on it really has to be bigger, and a really solid grid pattern (where your character stands in the middle of the square). I'm also not sure if your own character needs to be represented by a little icon at all, it's probably enoughjust to show other people. Everyone's used to first person games etc by now, they should be comfortable with the square they're in just being highlighted.
The other thing I'm not sure about is why you're holding onto the 'so many steps per day'. It inevitably leads to people just grinding out their steps each day and moaning that it's random/they get no items on whatever day. If you're planning to put in other features just scrap the steps and find another way to reward people with items. Then people can hang around in xmas town all day if they want.
The footsteps and the localised chat are cool.

Wolf Among Us + Walking Dead #1 were amazing. I don't really feel the urge to play more than one of their games a year though, great as they are.

If you really want to get addicted to something, Binding of Isaac (either one, probably just go to the newer version though). Thought I was done with it but just put in another 100 hours in the last few months :S
I really liked number 2, 1 is great for sure, but I felt like 2 was really what 1 was trying to be, deeper characters and environments.
Not sure if I played 3, 4 was okay but they made you revisit places which was kinda bleh. I like the room concept though. Couldn't finish Homecoming... Shattered Memories was actually ok though. If anyone played that one.

These small local shows are easier than something like a festival, can just walk down for a couple of hours in the evening, and a few are house parties as well, where I'm just hanging out with friends (and they're probably playing). So much more low key than planning a huge night every weekend :o Not that I would mind if we had the bigger acts here, but we don't really...

No. But the main upgrade on the Remastered Edition is that it's now 64bit, so mods in future wont be as limited as they currently are.
So right now: Original is better In a year or two: Remastered will probably catch up
Original with graphics mods and high res texture pack looks about as good (if not better than remastered) at this stage, but that will probably change. That they didn't at least fix some bugs and do something with the goddamn UI is a real kick in the teeth personally... but yeah changing to 64bit is no small matter :)

1 and 4. Two radically different games, both amazing and both by Shinji Mikami. 5 lost it's magic for me, dunno, different director trying to copy 4 but flashier didn't really do it for me.
I've been playing Revelations 2 and it starts getting pretty good towards the end actually, Revelations 1 was ok but not really worth a replay.
