One suggestion. Rather than code your own projects what you should consider contributing to an Open-source project on Github, this is better for a few reasons:
1) You're helping to develop something people actually use.
2) You'll learn more reading other peoples code and have your code reviewed on pull requests
3) Employers will ****ing love you. If you turn up to an interview and can talk about well-known projects you have contributed to and have your Github handle on your CV/resume they will take you above anyone else who is trying to big up some piece of coursework they did at school or in their bedroom.
Not trying to put you off doing your own thing as doing anything is better than nothing but have a think about the above.

I'm not attempting to settle the Windows vs Mac debate as that will never end, but if you look at the total cost of ownership the price becomes less clear cut. Mac's can even work out cheaper than Windows in some situations - although I agree they are overpriced.
If you're already doing what was suggested then you're done - you can clone your drive over with software to try it the other way around but I think that would be a step backward personally.

Sorry Stephen, what you have described is not possible. I also use the pen and paper method you described, I find black ink works best for me.
