Those verdicts matter because they’re draconian, because of claimed irregularities with discovery and both the selection and the deliberations of the jury and because of far right judge Reed O’Connor’s overt viewpoint bias in imposing them — they matter for a bunch of legal reasons. Again, a no contest is accepting the charges levied against someone. It is the opposite of innocence. It is the accepting of the facts as laid out in the charging document and offering no defense of one's own actions.

Like I stated previously, it is often a strategy employed to prevent criminal charges being used as the basis for civil litigation once criminal proceedings wrap up.

Did he accept the punishment? If yes, then he accepts the charge as a guilty party found at fault. 

A no contest is typically for the purposes of avoiding civil litigation.
