On one sunny afternoon a random group of friends decided to meet for one giant, spectacular picnic. With the songs of birds and fragrance of barbecue in the air, everything was oh so perfect. So serene until... BOOM! Out of nowhere a large explosion erupted, knocking all the friends unconscious. The friends awoke to find themselves in a very strange forest, feeling very peculiar indeed for some friends awoke to find themselves in the forms of animals and plants. The other friends felt nothing in particular as they came to realise they were somehow non-corporeal. The friends soon found that they had heighten senses and new abilities as they tried to make sense of their new situation. They all agreed that sticking together was the only way they'd survive their confusing ordeal. As the days went by, the friends came to find that that was easier said than done. They still had not an answer as to what happened to them or what would become of them. The situation was frustrating and the friends began to feel hopeless. Though they did not want accept it, one by one they agreed that it would probably be better for them all if they accepted their new reality. The longer the friends remained in their new forms, the more in tune they became to nature. Instincts that they had never had before began to kick in and the friends slowly lost trust of one another. Cliques were form, accusations and rumours were thrown helter-skelter and war broke out. A few friends, unwilling to surrender their human memories and choose sides remained neutral while the non-corporeal friends stood by, unable to choose sides for their powers were too great to show favour. As their instincts and blood lust took control the friends forgot about their human lives in favour of embracing their new... Nature.
Players
This game can accommodate 20-27 players. More roles can be created if more people sign up.
Features and Glossary
Abilities: The powers a player may have to aid them and their team in winning the game. Each player may have 1-3 abilities. Some abilities may be passive meaning that that ability will be activated automatically under specific conditions. Other abilities will be needed to be triggered by the player.
Alignment: The team a player is on. There are four teams in this game: Forest, Mafia, Neutral and Elemental. Each team has been given an individual goal.
Enhancement: Some players have the ability to enhance other players abilities or have their abilities enhanced under specific conditions. For example, a player who can kill one player at night might be able to kill two if his/her ability is enhanced.
Goal: A goal is the conditions that need to be met either by a team or individual in order for the team or individual to win.
Hidden Feature: An event that will happen when players with certain abilities interact with one another. No player invovled may know of this reaction before hand and will only be notified of the hidden feature after it has been triggered. This is related to my own sense of humour.
Role: The character a player is assigned. Example: Ram
Seasons: For this game I wanted to try something experimental. I created the concept of seasons to add another dimension to the game. So in conjunction with day/night some abilities only work in some seasons or may be deactivated in some seasons. The seasons for this game will be winter, summer, spring and autumn. So for example there may be a player who has a night ability but it only works during the summer or there may be a player that has an ability that works both day and night as long as it isn't summer.
Hints
1. I created this game with idea of manipulating time and voting structures so be mindful of that. 2. I love puns and irony.

It's just about midnight in Torn. You are just about to settle into bed, glad to say goodbye to another day. And what a trying day it was! At precisely 12:34 in the afternoon, the power went out all around the city and, all electrical devices suddenly stopped working. As a result, you had to abondon your non-functional car in the city and walk home. Your boss was kind enough to let you go early so you could start your twenty mile journey while the sun was still up. And the sun was seemingly in a generous mood too as it didn't set until four hours after its usual sunset time. Experts attribute the blackout to an unforeseen solar flare, however, they still have no explanation as to why the sun didn't set on time. In addition to the black out, birds that had just migrated north or the summer were reported to be migrating south again. Random plants and animals that were usually grounded were reported to be seen floating up into the sky and people were disappearing only to reappear at impossible distances away from their home. Too tired to deal with anymore crap, you snuggle up to your loaded shotgun. The last thoughts you have before falling asleep are you daring anyone to try and mess with you tonight.
You wake up irritated. Jolted awake by a loud noise quite similar the the Inception music. Swearing under your breath, you hastily dress to cuss your obnoxious neighbour. You open your front door before you finally notice something is off. It's still pitch black outside. The power is still off. Before you can even make sense of anything you here that loud, blaring noise again. You look around and see all your neighbours have come outside as well. Suddenly there is a bright flash of light and a giant disk appears in the sky. Certainly, it can't be what you think it is but the more you look at it, the closer to terms you come with the fact that your eyes are not deceiving you. You are indeed looking at an alien spaceship. Suddenly, your day starts to make sense. You chuckle a bit at the irony that you finally have understanding as your neighbour's ginger tabby floats upwards to the spaceship like other animals have been doing all day.
Note
This game is pretty simple. Some people have abilities but most do not. I won't be providing a public list of roles or abilities. However, there are a few roles that are aware of the existence of another role but not how that role works or who has that role. When a player dies, I will reveal their alignment but not their roles or abilities.
There are three items in this game. They each have a different function. One item requires RNG, another might not be used unless specific conditions are met. The conditions to use this third item is currently known only to me. What these items are will be known by specific players but might be revealed to everyone if players in the know chose to do so.

5. If you miss voting twice you will be replaced or modkilled if you can't be replaced. Simply not voting counts as a missed vote. If you can't vote for whatever reason that day just vote abstain or notify me if it pertains to real life.
6. Ties between two players will result in the death of all participants unless affected by an ability. Ties between more than two will result in an a 24 hour extension of the voting period. If a tie between more than two people still exists, one player will be eliminated via RNG.
7. There may be multiple winners or losers in this game. How you win will depend on the rules for your role and/or team.

This game is made for 17-19 players. Replacements are welcomed.
So apparently by definition of a bastard game... this is a bastard game.
I've made 114 Christmas presents (because it was the red wrapping) with the following items:
Teddy Bear Plushie, Dozen Roses, Bag of Candy Kisses, Bag of Chocolate Kisses, Bag of Chocolate Truffles, Box of Chocolate Bars, Box of Sweet Hearts, Lollipop, Bottle of Beer
Totally free of charge you can either post in this thread (or mail me if you want it anonymous) with the name and ID of the player whom you want to receive the candy gram along with a message.
Rules
1. You cannot send a candy gram to yourself. 2. You can only send one candy gram. (This is to ensure that as many people get a chance to send one as possible.) 3. All messages must oblige to Torn rules and I will not be sending out any rude or lewd messages. 4. You cannot use this to circumvent any blocks or ignores. 5. Send information for anonymous grams via mail. I will ignore all chats that pop up.
I withhold the right to deny sending a candy gram to anyone I chose for any arbitrary reason and I will refuse to send candy grams if too many are requested to be sent to the one person.
I will be sending the grams out on the 14th for as long as supplies last.
Grams with no specific message will just say "Happy Valentine's Day from X."
St. Patty's Day is coming up and in order to celebrate the occasion I've created a little grid game.
This game is based of the Memory Match game usually played with children. Each card has a number that corresponds with a specific prize. Find a matching pair in order to claim the prize.
For the sake of keeping track I'll be alternating between red and green so I can easily see what cards were flipped what day. It looks like Christmas but they're complement colours so the difference is easy to see.
Each round will last 23 hours. If I think the game is moving too slow, I will change it to 11 hours each round.
Each round begins 00:01 TCT and ends 23:00 TCT. To enter post your name and ID below.

Forum raffles. Raffles hosted in the appropriate Torn forums are fine, as long as entries, the draw and the results are all posted in the forum thread. We know you’ll need a third party RNG tool to draw winners, and that’s fine. Raffles must still follow all existing Torn rules. For example, you can’t ask for forum karma in exchange for entries as the Advertising rules already prohibit this.
Free entry giveaways and competitions. Giveaways and events that are free to enter, such as fantasy football or music league competitions with prizes for the winners, are still allowed.
This implies that raffles with an entry fee will be banned under the new rules. Forum raffles are still allowed provided that they are free to enter.
They are banning offsite casinos. That was the whole point of the discussion.
Off site casinos and in game raffles are no where near the same thing. No one is going to start a free 10b raffle for funsie but if they do, staff can monitor them. Staff can't monitor offsite casinos.
I don’t really understand why it’s a problem since scamming is allowed. Basically, what’s the difference between someone finding their way into a banker role in a faction and taking all the money or simply telling the first to send me X cash get all my stuff, and someone opening a casino and making a profit because in the end the house always wins?
Wtf. Just wtf. How do you even think this is a logical argument?
The problem is Ched is running a business. He went and got his trade license and everything. Part of receiving such license is agreeing to follow the laws of the country that issued the license.
Torn allows for real life people to spend their real life hard earn money in exchange for donator packs. What that entails is fully disclosed. Torn has an in game casino that is regulated. Torn has a casino but Torn is not a casino game. Ched is not running an online casino.
Off site, play-run casino games are not and can never be fully regulated by Torn. Essentially, you're trying to run a separate game under Ched's business license where Ched is fully liable and you, the owner profit.
If you want to create and run an online casino, feel free to do so. Just leave Torn out of it.
This whole post is a case for why they should be banned.
I am a lifelong gambling addict
Not off to a great start.
We are all legal-aged adults. Consenting adults will seek stuff out that they wish to partake in, legal or otherwise.
Legal and allowed are two different things. As previously mentioned, Torn is registered in the UK. Laws addressing microtransactions, loot boxes, etc. are in the works and likely to be passed. Ched will probably have no choice but to ban them eventually. Part of being an adult is understanding you can't always get what you want and do whatever you want.
These third party casinos will exist with or without the ban.
That's not the point. Ched has fedded many players for blowing their irl cash in the Torn casino. He's already set precedent that he has no interest in facilitating addicts. As you pointed out, there's a way to exclude oneself from on site gambling. If a player is so intent on circumventing these gaurdrails then the problem isn't Torn, it's them. In that case, maybe they should seek help or at the very least, find another site that has no relation to Torn.
I've seen the discourse over Xanax insurance, plus sites like FFScouter, TornW3b, and TTP, which all use Xanax as payment and could potentially be swept up in this ban if it's worded incorrectly.
I like some of these sites and use some of them regularly but the truth is, there are too many scripts and auxillary sites for Torn. Even when I was a noob, there were players asking for certain features to be incorperated into the game. Knowing Ched, he'll find a way to ban what he wants to ban and preserve what he wants to preserve. If these sites get shoot down in the process of the ban, either they were collateral for ending a precieved bigger problem or Ched couldn't find a work around.
If something as severe as doxxing isn't policed off site, why would casinos be?
EXACTLY!
If the staff already have their hands full policing the game itself, imagine how much more difficult it would be if they also had to monitor these casino (of which there seem to be much more than most players realised). Staff shouldn't be given unnecassary extra work and it makes no sense to ask them to turn a blind eye to potential abuse and RMT.
At the end of the day, you get 75 tokens and then you can get 75 more if you buy refills. There are ways to get even more than that if you want. While I agree that there can be more games and maybe the ability to bet on ingame events, Torn is not an online casino game. Many of the arguments for allowing offsite gambling sound like the site is full of players who need to go talk to someone irl. Doesn't seem like these arguments have considered how much of a liability these site could be to Ched and Torn.
If gambling is all you do on Torn and it still isn't enough for you, consider that Torn is not the game for you. There's no shame in admitting that.
I'm surprised they were even allowed in the first place. Seems like a huge liabilty for Ched considering some playerd spend irl money to buy dps to gamble. Also seems like a way for unmonitored RMT.
I dont seem how this benefits the game at all. The only positive feedback can take from this is players want more casino games.
I've met players who do. I've asked about it, they said they know what they are doing. They have it in their budget and they don't mind giving Torn an extra $100 for some fun.
It's a real slippery slope and I think you have a real problem if you are doing this. But sane, sober adults are making this decision. They know exactly what they are doing.
If anything, you can always write to Torn to get your money back. Ched will return it to you but you will get permabanned, which would be rightfully deserved.
Go be present for your family. I know we like to joke around but some things are more important than Torn. Birth is painful, stressful and exhausting. No one is going to remember what random war you are fighting today but for as long as she lives, your partner will never forget this day. And even if she says she's cool about it today, if things sour between the two of you (god forbid) being on your phone, playing games while she's bringing two lives into the world, is absolutely going to count against you. Especially if this becomes a pattern...Torn on the twins birth, Torn during the twins first Christmas, Torn during the twins first bday party.
As a noob, I went into global chat to say hello. I got bountied by Maxheadroom. So that was my intro to Torn. I think I was like 5 days old or.l something.
This has happened to me before but I refreshed the page, else I'd have never known someone joined. Even with the alert on to hear the sound effects. Somwtimes they don't play.
If I remember correctly, when RW weapons were announced, Ched mentioned that finding them on the map would be possible. Has anyone ever found a RW weapon on the map? Or did I just dream this up?
Last week I got shut out of Torn for like 4hrs thanks to the bot hunter and the captcha. I didn't fail them, the captcha just wouldnt let me.move.on to another page.
It's random, you have no control over when it comes. The merit is over 5 years but I finally got it this year. I know plenty of you ger players who got it before me.
Idk if this is real but if it is, my advice would be to surround yourself with a strong community and work on the spiritual side.
Idk if you have any beliefs but religious people tend to have better medical outcomes than non-religious people. A habit of practicing virtues like gratitude and patience can change your perspective and rewire your nervous system and cardiovascular system. Prayer and meditation can help with stress management.
I know it's cliche but working on making amends can help too. One less burden to carry when you are already fighting a major battle. Plus clearing the air and reconnecting to loved ones can tether you here on this side of the plane longer. You'll want to live more if you believe others also want you to live more.
As for the community, you want emotionally mature well-wishers. People who can balance optimism and realism. You are dealing with a major illness. This isn't like a cold or flu, sick for a few days and you'll be fine. This can potentially be life altering, maybe life ending. Like it or not, you are going to be vulnerable. You need a safe place to express that vulnerabilty. If you feel like you need to pretend to be happy or strong for anyone, you need to talk yourself out of that. It's not good for your health. And anyone that is pushing you into behaving that way, you need to talk to them too. Death is inevitable to us all but we all walk around thinking it's far away in the future. It's mind shattering when you get put in a position to see the freight train coming and you're stuck on the tracks. Fighting a brain cyst and managing other's emotional wellbeing is too much. That's too many battles.
You may possibly want to talk about the worst. You need people who can handle those conversations without breaking down or shutting down the conversation.
Which leads me to the next piece of advice.
Pick your battles. Know your limits. Your main focus should be on you getting better, everything else is secondary. Let your support help you out. Maybe one day you're too tired to get out of bed, let your support bring you meals. Can't quite understand the doctors' instructions? Let your support take notes and explain it to you later. Don't take advantage of the people around you but don't be afraid to admit when you need help. It won't do you any good to run yourself ragged to keep up appearances. Get in the practice of being frank. It's going to offend some people but it's all about energy conservation. You don't want to get trapped in long winded, repetitive conversations. You don't want to keep having the same fights and arguments, especially when nothing's changed.
Once all this is done, follow your doctors' advice. Do the treatment, follow the diet and exercise regime. If you have questions, don't be afraid to ask them. Always have someone who can advocate for you when you go to see the doctor. If you feel like you aren't being treated well, don't be afraid to speak up or have your advocate speak for you. Don't be afraid to get a second opinion or a new doctor. It's your right.
