Sprite: Obey Your Thirst Red Bull: It Gives You Wings. Fanta: Invented By Nazis. Drunk By Heroes.
There have been some memorable soda slogans over the years, with each one carefully crafted by a team of overpaid, artisan wordsmiths in smoky dark rooms and Ralph Lauren suits. However, with the world on the brink of recession, the Munster Energy Corporation can’t afford to pay a bunch of failed screenwriters $1,000 an hour to write four words. So instead of hiring people to invent slogans for their new range of cans, they’re asking you to do it for free!
The Munster Energy Corp. needs a snappy catchphrase for each one of these amazing new products; Goose Juice, Damp Valley and Crocozade. Your slogans should reflect the product’s use, its strength or its branding in no more than ten words. Citizens are permitted to submit one slogan only for each of the three new cans, and you must submit your entries as one single post - you don’t have to come up with one for all three if you can’t be bothered.
You have until midnight on the 17th of September to submit your slogans, and your work must be 100% original. When the competition has finished, one slogan for each new can will be selected from all of those submitted, with the three winning writers each receiving 10,000 of that particular can as a reward, along with the usual ribbons and prizes.
Good luck!
- Submit ONE slogan for each new can. - Post them within ONE single forum post. - Maximum of TEN words. - Make them CLEVER or funny or SNAPPY. - No swears or nudity (Not sure how that'd be possible, but don't try). - Reference the can's THEME or general usage. - Post your entries by the 17TH OF SEPTEMBER. - There will be ONE winner for each can type.
As you may already know, the project to improve various companies is ongoing, with our focus being on some of the worst-performing companies initially. However, given that there are only a handful of companies left that are below the threshold for improvement, I have started looking at replacement specials for companies higher up the ladder.
My initial priorities are the Cyber Cafe, Theater, and the Zoo, with these requiring significant upgrades to bring them in line with the rest. On top of this, I'm also looking at replacing the missing specials for the 7-star Car Dealership, 10-star Amusement Park, 3-star Nightclub, 7-star Software Corp, 5-star Furniture Store, 7-star Firework Stand, 3-star Flower Shop, and 7-star TV Company.
I already have a list of potential specials for almost every company, but I'm willing to add more into the mix based on your suggestions. I figured this forum would be the best place to post this request rather than the more general viewpoints I'd receive via the suggestions forum, but please keep your comments brief and to the point so they're easier to log. If you can format your post in the following way your suggestions are more likely to be heard:
Good timing. Just last week Chedburn asked me to work up some new education ideas to add to the ones we already have - a revamp of the existing educations isn't on the cards, but we will definitely be adding new ones.
I've already started looking at areas that aren't covered by the present education system, and Chedburn has put together a document for me that includes some of the best player suggestions from years gone by, but if there are any good ideas in this thread I'll make sure to include them too. So yeah, feel free to throw out your thoughts on what's missing from education at the moment, and I'll see if I can work them into my proposals.
The devs changed their minds about using bar charts and told me after I'd already published. I was supposed to amend the article, but I didn't. Here's a bar chart to confirm my version of events.
You are correct. Congratulations. You have out-pedanted the pedant. I've changed it back. Now for the love of god, will you people please go outside and touch grass.
I have made these changes. I've also added the term rawdogging to one of the companion script descriptions. If anyone complains about this, I'll tell them it was your fault.
One small correction I'd like to offer of my own. In your forum post bragging about requesting all these corrections, you said you "wanted to chase that high" ever since you got the soccer ball description changed for being incorrect. I think "high" should be "low."
