OP applied for a job and I told him our 2–tier daily wage, with 10 EE and < 10EE, but he wanted more. I told him that, if our wage was not acceptable, then to withdraw his application. OP replied that he had offers at his desired wage and I replied that he should pursue those offers.
He comes back and says he now has 10EE, and wanted to apply for the higher daily pay. Even with his poor work stats of 97, I accepted him because our rig often hired low stat workers. They have the potential to be loyal, highly qualified employees. After day 1, I saw his effectiveness was reduced because of his drug addiction, but I continued to pay him the higher daily rate for 10EE, for the 10 days that he was employed.
I am not aware of Torn companies that offer jobs for a term length, like 1 year or compensation for resetting merits, so why are thread posters saying that OP was scammed or that our company reneged on an employment period or job benefit? Neither claim is true.
He was revealed to be a low stat worker that had poor potential to be anything more than an entry level roughneck, with work stats of +97. Even our company addicts can be moved up to better jobs after rehabbing. He did not negotiate a notice period before employment termination. If he had any workplace awareness, he should have been nervous, not clueless, about being replaced. And he was replaced by a more qualified applicant.
He wanted $50 million to compensate for his cost of obtaining a merit reset. However, during his 10 days of employment, he was paid over $30 million. I did not promise him a job for life. I did not promise to pay him to reset merits. I did not force him to reset his merits, as a condition of employment. Two times, I told him to go away.
If he paid 1500 points for a merit reset, then he has reset several times before. Spending points is not a concern to him or he has difficulty deciding on what to spend merits on. Do not expect others to pay for his regrets.
The first mistake that I made was not checking on his xanax use. If I did, then I would have declined his application. The second mistake was even considering this male Karen’s job application.
i do not know where you saw 130. i saw 119 and decreasing daily.
please post your work stats as well. you said your 3 work stats totalled 250,000, all even. knowledgeable directors will see your point and will probably offer you a job.
EDIT: for the people in the peanut gallery, the effectiveness is the important number, not the max effectiveness (which is before the ill effects of drug addiction)

for several months, I forgot that all other industries had considerably more daily customers. oil rigs normally max out at 3 daily customers and we typically get 2-3 daily customers.
