r+ for legit the most inventive way of fishing for information on the crime system i've yet seen. think you should have saved it for crimes 2.0 though.
^This.
7-9* AN's, flower shops, sweet shops etc. always tend to be looking for noobies willing to stick around for a bit and they will train you up if you make an arrangement to stick around for a set period.
If you're really desperate for trains look for high star companies in unloved industries (nightclubs, car dealership etc.) that have very few employees and a semi-active director. If you're lucky you'll find one who will train you up for free. I did this for about half a year and averaged ~3-4 trains a day for free.

That or law firm perk only applies to OC's while Crime XP modifiers apply to everything.
I mean you could well be right, but you're making a pretty big assumption that the existence of the law firm perk (20% bonus to OC skill) implies that CE for OCs is calculated differently to CE for everything else, and not that instead the law firm perk is just an additive to everything else.
The new CE rankings make it incredibly easy to test (or at least whether the rankings take into account CE modifiers, which if they did would presumably imply OCs did too), so it seems like a frankly unnecessary assumption.

You've already tested this?
Cause of those things you've mentioned only merits would have the potential to show up in the CE rankings.
Law firm only effects OC success not crime success/experience, addiction affecting CE seems a dubious claim, and faction upgrades would not show up in CE rankings since they modify the entire faction equally.

Any chance you could also test whether Crime XP merits effect your CE ranking as well?
You'd need two people with roughly the same CE (if you have two fairly fresh 60 NNB guys that would be perfect) and one would have to reset crime xp merits for however long it takes for the rankings to be updated.

quick and easy trade, and a friendly guy to boot
Don't use any jp's on cans till you have a minimum of 250k in each stat.
1. Stack to 1k energy with xanax.
2. Wait for your drug cd to reset. If you want to use FHC at 99,999 happy you need booster cd to reset too.
3. Wait for :00/:15/:30/:45 ticks so happy doesn't immediately reset.
4. Use JP's to get to 50k happy.
5. Pop xtc. Don't OD.
6. Train like a mofo, make sure you're fast, you have to get through quite a few refills in 15 minutes. If your happy resets before you've used all your refills then just wait 30 hours and repeat. If you have any fhc's use them too, your energy is worth a ridiculous amount more at max happy and low stats.
Also if you haven't unlocked all the gyms, you should plan out your gym progression before you start, and leave enough money to unlock whichever ones you need to max your gains.

Did this ever get changed?
Torn staff have no jurisdiction outside of torn so on/off site is irrelevant. Both Sharpmid and Stylin were banned for breaching Torn's terms of use and social guidelines, and both were (allegedly) repeat offenders.
Nobody is denying that what sharpmid did was messed up, the problem is that punishments in torn are consistently inconsistent and this is further complicated by the lack of transparency in the system.
If sharpmid was fedded because of the severity of the breach of terms, or as a consequence of previous breaches, then this is fair enough, but it should be clarified. And while it does clearly state in the game's terms that staff discretion can and will be used when deciding upon punishments, this closed doors judicial system is not good for the game.
This.
I have no doubt that Sharpmid crossed the line and earned a forum and chat ban. However, I'm not sure how this could have deserved a perma fed and presumably an IP ban.
There are a lot of similarities between this incident and the one involving Stylin a few months ago. Stylin had (alledgedly) even been warned previously he would be facing a perma fed sentence if he re-offended. He did, and was promptly fedded, but then it was overturned and replaced by a chat ban. That set a precedent that should be applied similarly to Sharpmid.
The biggest problem with the current punishment system is the lack of transparency. Not only does this lead to (possibly erroneous) claims of staff favouritism, but also reduces staff accountability. This really isn't a difficult problem to solve.
How do you travel?
If it is a complete change to the underlying algorithm and not manual tampering then it's a very welcome change.
The old? system had a few very volatile shares which traded in an almost perfect range that were basically just a licence to print money. Seriously, it's laughable to suggest that any intelligence was required to pick shares or make money. And because the best trading shares (WLT, CNC, ELBT, SYM etc.) traded within a very clearly defined range there were huge rewards to be found with almost no risk attached. Without any randomness or dynamism, the system naturally favoured those with access to scripts that gave price/quantity/forecast alerts.
If it is indeed a new algorithm then it looks to be a much improved formula. I've noticed a lot more stocks actually trending, as well as breakouts above/below support/resistance levels. A stock market that did in fact reward intelligence and complex pattern recognition - as well as involved some actual risk - would be a hugely improved system. A more dynamic system would also go some way to reducing the massive advantage scripters have over those without access to scripts (at least until they can recalibrate).
Of course if it turns out it is just one of the devs manually 'resetting' the system that would be all sorts of bad.
Not sure how you are getting 0 dmg hits on someone with def only 4x your str. That should only be a 75% dmg reduction, you definitely should not be getting any mitigated hits.
Are HP rounds special ammo? If they are you should try the mission with regular ammo.
Also if you don't have weapon xp on the enfield you could try switching to an armalite for the mission and see if the better stats help more than the bigger clip. Your faction probably has spares you can borrow.
You just used a consumable worth about 1/4 of your entire faction's nw.
Congrats bro, you're really living up to your faction's name.

level holding was always inefficient, but with the changes to chaining now it is just downright bad.
you earn much less respect per hit (you should probably read prox's chaining guide, sometimes he knows what he's talking about). lower life - the most important pseudo stat in the game - requires you to hit people with worse stats than yourself, meaning you're sacrificing a lot of the fair fight bonus.
the biggest reason to level hold was always to pick up extra defends. the best way to do this was by having a friend put a small bounty on you. the change allowing any hits to count towards a chain no longer makes this particularly feasible since players involved in a chain will look to make their hits work double by also going after the bounty hunting merits.
really the only reason to level hold any longer is to enable quick busts if you're doing unsafe crimes.
certainly holding at lvl 7 is just handicapping yourself for no reason.
Nice book you've got there. Where's champion when you need him?
