I propose a unique, highly challenging faction OC with a high investment and a high reward. The Oceans 11! Rob a Casino OC!
Requirements: 11 Faction Participants with 60 nnb and 100 days in the faction (no mercenaries). All participants must have maxed out both the Law Office and Casino starter jobs. The setup takes 30 days, during which time no member of the team can travel or race (because they are planning the heist).
Rewards: Danny Ocean’s crew was after $150 million. For an OC like this - adjusted for Torn economics - each participant should get $150m, along with an Oceans 11 Honor Bar and merit. The faction should get $1.5 billion (10 times the individual reward) and a large chunk of respect, like 50,000. Each faction should be allowed to try no more than once a year.
This is would be a special OC designed to be done by top players who are loyal faction members, giving them a rare merit and the chance to really help out their faction. Upvote!
Players with laptops should have full access to all information and non-physical activities while flying. They should be able to research companies, place bets with the bookies, and do pretty much anything a traveler with internet access on an airplane would do. This would increase engagement of players during otherwise dead time. I would also suggest allowing trade activity, but not allowing the trade to execute until both players arrive in Torn.
Given that we see people going in and out of Fed for various offenses for various durations, we should add the number of times a player has been banished to Fed and the total number of Fed days accumulated to visible player stats. This would help players identify questionable players and engage with them or not with awareness of their criminal record.
Instead of taking spy records to Tornstats or some third party site, spies should automatically be added to a faction record built into Torn. When you click on the profile of someone your faction has spied, that record should be visible on the profile page along with the date of the spy that yielded it. On the faction page, there should be a spy tab where a player can see the list of players with a spy record in the faction.
Sometimes faction leaders make changes to perks and members either miss the internal faction announcement or leaders don’t make an announcement. This may lead to players continuing to train a stat that doesn’t reflect the training perks, or to launch for travel without realizing extra travel items have been reduced.
It should be easy enough to institute an event notification showing each change. What say all of you?
Pleas go back to Chat 1.0. You can talk all the tech you want, but in the end the new chat has resulted in much less chatting from where I sit. The cumbersome nature of having to click twice to open faction chat and the loss of the green tab designating unread chats has basically killed chatting for me. I never saw an issue with 1.0 while 2.0 has been the biggest negative of the thousands of days I’ve played this game.
One day I would like to see the universe where this dumpster fire is an improvement on the old chat. If it worked, perhaps that would be in this universe. My chats are still disappearing, still unstable, still take an unreasonable amount of time to load, and all this happens on phone, tablet, and laptop. Maybe I am wrong. Maybe people ARE typing "Connecting to server..." over and over. I'm sure this will be alright once it actually works, but I didn't experience the problems people purported to have in the old chat. I got messages instantly. I could see when there were new messages waiting. The damn chat box was actually visible every time I opened the page. What a mess, and right before the biggest chining event of the year. Just a massive self inflicted debacle.
Same here. Nothing but notes. This has to get fixed before Halloween starts, even if it means putting the old chat back in use until this one is ready for prime time.
I'm not sure you can farm merits in 1.0 seeing as they are doing the whole merit rearrangement when you transition. I haven't paid enough attention to know if that's a fair assessment or not, though. I have stayed out because I am certain something this big is bound to be chock full of unfriendly bugs.
I keep seeing the verification screen, but it clears on its own or it clears after I check the “not a robot” box. Still having a mix of log in/out problems.
