Which battle stat ratio in your opinion is best for attacking? By best battle stat ratio I mean which will win you the most fights against the average opponent.
Related questions: How well does the ratio train and scale over time? What are the winning and losing matchups of the ratio?
I specifically ask about attacking battle stat ratios, because defending places you at at a big disadvantage: by having second hit, attackers being able to wait out the timer of battle stat boosting/reducing temporaries, and attackers can pick who they fight based on estimated stats of the opponent. If you disagree or have other opinions, please share them.

I'm at 30 nnb. I'm wondering if the windproof lighter is worth the +40m for a new player still building network.
What are the arson success rates with or without the lighter? Is there a cap on the arson success rates that is reachable without the lighter, if so at what crime experience level?
Any suggestions or thoughts would be much appreciated.

But with every ratio that trains all 4 battle stats you would eventually reach the 50m stat cap (where you would stop gaining stats exponentially for the same energy spent).
Hank's ratio and Baldr's ratio both have more average gym dot's then balanced, and hence gain more battle stats in the gym for the same amount of energy spent. So wouldn't you gain more total battle stats overtime by following the aforementioned ratios, as opposed to a balanced ratio, once you reach the final gym (George's gym) or earlier with Cha Cha's?
edit: Here is a description of Baldr's ratio and Hank's ratio, by Baldr himself

Question: I'm curious how you could measure Torn's economic inflation, especially since the release of Stocks 3.0. By economic inflation I mean the average price increases of regularly bought items, over time.
Motivations and observations: Stocks 3.0 may influence inflation by changing item supply or money supply. Common items are seeing price decreases (ex: FHC's and eDVDs), or steady prices (Xanax).
Thank you

It will be very hard to learn to use java on Just a mobile phone. You need to practice coding in Java order to become fluent in Java.
Your options are: to buy a cheap laptop and use Linux as your OS (I recommend Manjaro, Linux mint, or Ubuntu), or buy a Bluetooth keyboard.

The best company Job guide there is. It is funny, easy to read, and search for specific play styles. Vynical out did himself here.
This is a creative way of avoiding mugs. I'm not sure when the 25e expenditure would be worth it. However, it could be used as a last resort, because of the removal of buying and selling stocks during flight. You can potentially stay longer after you leave the hospital, because a player with low health abroad is one signal that the player was recently mugged. This attack loss method to avoid mugs could be situationally worth it.

I think these stock groupings and real life counterparts are a good start.
How did you learn that these in-game Stocks are correlated to your suggested real life industry counterparts? How highly correlated are they?

Amen to that. I had the same experience with my medium/hard targets. I was like, "How tf am I supposed to beat a >200m stat player." I skipped missions until I got tired of skipping, and eventually I learned of the quoted advice.

I did not downvote, but they may have wanted a TL;DR instead of just a newspaper article ¯\_ (?) _/¯ .
I too am curious about IQ, but don't care enough to read a meme article. However, I'm not sure how to spoiler forum posts, for the TL;DR, to accommodate people who want to read the article without spoilers.

Thank you Unlock for this brief and simple guide to playing casually and progressing (at your own pace).
A few months ago I played TORN religiously, when I had nothing better to-do. Then when school started and the associated stress kicked my ass, I fell back on your guide and continued to enjoy playing TORN.
I recommend for everyone to read this guide, at some point during their TORN career. I have yet to find another guide this simple, useful, and all-encompasing.
If my experience connected with you, then I wish you well; you aren't alone in your struggles.

HEGs, Grenades, or Nail Bombs can also be used for the 100 finishing hits with temporaries merit. Wherein HEGs are the best (reasonable) option.
If your goal is to win the most fights, I would recommend against whoring a stat until you've unlocked special gyms and can afford to buy stat enhancers. A (mostly) balanced ratio provides better average damage and damage mitigation compared to whoring one stat.
If your goal is to train as fast as possible your best bet is grinding for money to afford happy jumps till 400k battle stats (each). Alternatively, if you're more active you can take 3 xanax a day, get subscriber status, and do daily energy refills. I recommend reading "Baldr's basic advice" for more info.
If what I just said does not sound reasonable and you wish to play Torn more casually, I recommend reading "The Casual Player Handbook || By Unlock".
Lastly, whoring one stat at a time may help you to train faster if you cannot afford to regularly do premium happy related training methods.
I hope that helps.

I was responding more to you than the OP. Seeing as he is nowhere near the stat cap or heavy weight gyms; Pooch's advise seems the best to me.

Very interesting. I'd like to more your analysis. Do you have a link to where you modeled Hank's ratio, Baldr's ratio, and Balanced ratio versus each other?

Any drug that you haven't used 50 of yet, for the associated merit. But the lower the cooldown the better.
Great and easy to follow guide. I think using stocks and cashier checks to store money is especially useful if you are flying. For example, If you want to sell an expensive item in your bazaar you can:
1) add the item to your bazaar,
2) fly to Japan or farther,
3a) if your item sells mid-flight then buy high demand stocks
4a) sell the stocks right away, to collect your cashier checks when you land in Torn
3b) if your item didn't sell during the flight, close your bazaar when you land in torn to avoid getting buy mugged.

Nice guide. I followed it almost exactly, and I got two stats with xxx,x69. One difference was I used the updated gym calculator:

Thank you to everyone who has responded. I have decided to buy a windproof lighter. I think it is worth buying for long-term CE gains, if the price of it remains stable. But, if Ched changes the drop rate for crime enhancers I'll consider selling it.
