I don't get why top level players consider this so much of an issue. I barely have 3B NW and I get mugged as if I'm made of money. Most of you literally are made of money, so you should expect it. As is stands, there's already few ways of making money through energy, and it's not us mid tier players that need it, we don't spend E outside training. You lot do, why make it worse on yourself?
If someone had the patience and determination to sit on your page for 7 mins, refereshing every 1 - 2s, they deserve that mug. You all know the game well enough to get protected before flying, or you know, even better, not put your money somewhere with crappy interest like Cayman's. Determination and effort should yield rewards, your attacker had more so you lost out.
I don't care what he did for someone or continues to do. I don't care for his heroics or good deeds. The internet isn't a safe place and people need to get that bloody bit of common sense into their heads.

I want the merit for spies and stealing medical items back. It was one of the few reasons for people to slave at those jobs, and saw that particular part of the game utilised. Without them, we're back to ignoring it, and lounging about in cushy high-pay jobs. Where's the sacrifice? Merits should cost something, more than just money, or time. They should be forcing us to use all parts of the game.

Depends, if you can turn them into points and have the patience to sell them in small amounts as to not be worth mugging, then points is a better bet even if they aren't trade-able. If not, selling to traders is better.
Karma farmers out here farming karma every time they pick someone new to beat on. This is how you beat espionage, with public transparency...take notes!

Why waste $100M on one bounty? You could hire a merc (I recommend mug) and pay to keep hosping them over a good bit of time. How much fun would it be to watch your nemesis have to hold off on defend merits for a few months because at any moment, they might be taking a trip to the hospital? No bounties, so they won't even expect it, maybe even forget before...boom, hosp! No chance of expiry, so all the more fun and you can drag it so much longer.
I only have $10M fun money or I'd do something like that myself...only to friends. :P
