When I first joined Torn, I was looking for a simple browser based game I could play on my phone. I've had a video game addiction all my life and decided to give up all forms of computer games and online media. Torn was kind of a compromise because it was so simple.
Over the weeks of play, I found myself getting totally consumed by the game- the stock market investments, real estate, flower smuggling, guild dynamics, etc, and found it taking up a lot of my free time. Finally I figured, hey, why am I playing make-believe when I could be putting in all this time and energy into real life endeavors? Afterall, I had sold products on Amazon and Ebay before and knew that the process was pretty much identical to selling in the Bazaar..
It was at this time IRL that I entered the crypto-currency market, right before the epic bullrun of Dec. 2017.
I was unemployed at the time and with my last 200 dollars, I bought .02 BTC and invested in Ripple at $.25. In a few days it went to $.75 and my investment tripled. I thought "wow, this is so easy!" I then bought into Verge which 10X'd my account after John McCafee shilled it on Twitter (you don't count gains by % in crypto- you count it by X's). From there I invested in Pearl when it was 30cents and after a popular youtuber hyped it, the chit spiked to $4 a pop. I was now sitting on upwards of $80,000.
At this point pretty much everyone in crypto was in pure ecstasy. This to me was a red flag because I had studied the "psychology of a market cycle" and knew that we were nearing the peak of the bullrun based on the euphoria in the air. But what really sounded my alarm was when my friends grandmother asked about crypto- It was at this point that I cashed tf out.
I had been interested in real estate for many years, and now with some capital I finally had the chance to invest in some properties. I bought up 6 foreclosed houses in a low income area where the rent was still decent enough and became a slum lord, pulling in $5Gs a month sitting on my ass. Over the past year I've since expanded to 9 houses and make close to $7,000 a month in passive income.
Recently I've taken an interest to the ACTUAL stock market (which is so hilarious, because the crypto crowd openly mocks the stock exchange for it's abysmal rate of return). I've found the volatility to be fairly decent in penny stocks and have been averaging about $1k per hour. Not bad for staring at charts and clicking your mouse.
So that's what I've been up to. If you treat life itself like a GAME you can easily reach financial independence. In all honesty it's not much more difficult than this game you play here. It's also not much more satisfying ;)
If you bet heads and the coin lands tails 5 times in a row guess what the odds of getting heads are on the next flip?
50%
This means you are setting yourself up to lose in the long run because your highest value bet (and hence highest possible payout) only comes after a series of losses, and has the same odds of winning as just placing the large bet to begin with. Example:
Regular betting: bet 4m, win 4m 50% of the time, lose 4m 50% of the time. Result: evens out.
martingale: bet 4m only after losing 1m+2m, win 4m 50% of the time, lose 4m 50% of the time. Result: win 1m 50% of the time, lose 7m 50% of the time. Go broke.
The lower bet losses do win 50% of the time too of course, but your net losses will always be higher in the long run.
Cheater A: Hey dude- remember that stupid Mafia clone I started scripting as a side project?
Cheater B: Lmao, you mean the one from ten years ago?
Cheater A: Lol yeah. I finally got banned xD
Cheater B: Omg xD took them a while huh? what did you make?
Cheater A: About 1200 a month. Sold the money to chodes on Facebook. Had half a dozen of my rigs running over 400 accounts xD
Cheater B: Lmao And you got away with it for ten years? Talk about easy money.
Cheater A: Yeah man - and you know the best part? I managed to sell off the rest of my stuff before being banned LOL. The community is in an uproar because of all the laundered money being confiscated ahahahaha
Cheater B: Ahhh dude, who needs ruinedscape when you got suckers like that xD

You guys are gonna find this quite amusing.
Okay, first of all, I have some confessions to make.
1) I didn't actually turn 200$ into $80,000 by trading crypto. I DID start with my last $200 and I DID triple my investment when Ripple pumped from .25 to .75 - but my position size was only $100 out of that $200.
My crypto journey went more like this:
Turn $200 into $700. Throw in $800 more. Miss the verge McAfee tweet pump. Miss the Pearl pump from .3 to $4. End up investing in some chitcoin called Bitcoin Diamond that was pumping because it was frozen on Kucoin at $1000 each (exchange manipulation). My $1200 investment pumped to $5,000. Didn't sell because I was planning to arbitrate it on Kucoin and sell my stash for $60,000+. Ends up crashing right back down and my portfolio drops back to $1,500.
Spent the $1,500 on two ICOs: Unibright and some other chitcoin. As weeks go by, Both crash to literally pennies on the dollar. I didn't even bother checking my ether wallet. Was left with nothing.
2) I never invested in housing. I was just reading about someone elses real estate journey buying up small chit houses and fixing them up and renting. So no $7,000 a month.
3) I definitely try-harded with trading penny stocks, and was doing decent for a while. Was making 3% every day or so on my portfolio. However, I had 1 or 2 bad days and despite all my discipline, ended up losing all the gains for the past month. So I decided trading is not for me.
So, yeah, congratulations to all those who called bullshit. You were right.
HOWEVER. This is where things get radically ironic and epic. Almost Cosmic in it's hilarity. For you see- I never gave up on my money making aspirations. Over the past 10 months I have built a passive income EMPIRE and now make 6 figures.
A month.
That's right- I make more in a month than a doctor makes in an entire year sawing people in half- and I sit on my ass all day.
"But Drygord", I can hear you say. "Why should we believe you now if you were clearly bullshitting before?"
Well, I can't answer that. I just think it's truly hilarious how things actually ended up working out.
Props to the people who believed me the first time though. You clearly sensed my rich person aura, even if it was in the future.
Funny side note: as some of you might have noticed, crypto has gone on an epic bullrun. Even though I had money in my exchange and clearly saw where it was heading, I did not pull the trigger. Probably due to trauma from losing everything in 2018 and I eventually did end up selling my Unibright (what literally crashed to pennies after 2018) for $800.

No dude, just no. Your point was that "I suck at torn stocks therefore I will do even worse in real life". I then refuted your point and spelled out the fact that torn stocks are based on randomness and real life has predictable elements.
I never made it out to be "easy". Why would you think that when I literally said 99% of traders lose money?
One or two individuals? The market cap was several billion you imbecile. The price pumped because of McAfee's tweet and the fact it was a penny coin which makes people think there's a big upside. You would know this if you weren't a total dumbass.
Penny stocks are highly volatile and it's not hard to make 10% per trade. Most of the action takes place in the first 30 minutes. If I take a $10,000 position that moves 10% guess what? I've made 1k in less than an hour.
And when have I mentioned a single word about investing? I'm talking about TRADING.
From .0078 cents on Dec 10 to .078 cents on Dec 16th, that's a 1000% return. Of course Mcafee's tweet pumped it. I was THERE. You weren't. You don't know anything about cryptocurrency and have been proven wrong. Keep your damn poverty consciousness to yourself.
