I've noticed that many people around the world play Torn. I believe it would be very interesting to implement an AI-based translation system that translates what a player says into the reader’s native language.
This would make the game more accessible and could help increase the number of users, especially for those who don’t speak English fluently.
Let me give my own example: In OC 2.0, messages appear describing what’s happening. The problem is that I have to read, understand, and follow the movement of the pieces on the board. By the time I finish interpreting the text—even though I have a decent grasp of English—I’ve already lost time, and other things are happening. It becomes hard to keep up with the flow of what's being written and what's happening on screen in real time, which can make the experience frustrating.
I’ve also tried to invite friends who don’t speak English at all, and they refused to play because of the game’s English-only policy. I understand that English is one of the most important languages in the world, and everyone should ideally have at least basic knowledge—but that’s not the reality. I lost the opportunity to play with friends because they didn’t speak the language, especially when it came to understanding slang.
Personally, when I face difficulties, I use ChatGPT to translate or create longer texts (like this one).
I also play an idle MMORPG that brings together people from all over the world, and it has an automatic translation system. It translates incoming text to the reader's language and also translates the user's writing to the reader’s language in real time. The system isn’t perfect and has some ambiguities, but I believe that, by adopting an AI system trained in natural human language (even with grammar and pronunciation errors), and providing multi-language support here in Torn, we’d have huge potential to grow the player base.
It would be great for the game, as it would:
Boost the number of new players
Increase subscribers and donators
Improve the in-game economy
And allow players like me to bring in friends who don’t speak English
For all these reasons, I kindly ask that you consider this idea and explore what could be done.
I’m grateful for your attention, and I apologize if this has already been brought up before.
It’s really useful and good, but when I use it on TornPDA, the bottom line with the tabs disappears. Even if I disable the script, they don’t come back. I only managed to restore it by reinstalling TornPDA and disabling the script before using it again.
Good evening. I know we can sort items by quality on the item market screen, but I don’t see a way to check the exact quality value.
Do you guys know if there’s any tool or script (compatible with TornPDA) that displays the percentage quality of weapons (along with damage and accuracy) and armor (along with defense) directly on the market screen where we buy items?
If it could also display in bazaars, that would be interesting.
If anyone wants to marry me, I have a PI where we can live, but since I've already purchased the PI, the only thing I ask is that whoever wants to marry me take on the full upkeep of the PI and be an active player. I have just one restriction: I do not allow access to the vault. Please spread this news, and if you're interested, just DM me Hemorroida [2102876].
The benefits of marrying me and living on the island are: 1. Access to the airstrip, allowing you to travel wherever and whenever you want without having to pay. 2. 1% additional life regeneration. 3. 2% extra damage to opponents. 4. 2% extra gains in gyms. 5. No rent to pay. Many people have private islands and rent them out. If you rent one of those, you will be paying rent in addition to the upkeep.
I made an apply to a faction, but I never got an answer. Now, I do not remember the name of the faction and I do not even know how to remove my request.
How do I remove the apply request and be free to make new requests?

I use TornPDA, and when I pull up the list of weapons and armor, it only shows damage/accuracy/defense/"attributes as symbols".
If I click on an item, it no longer shows its description with quality like it used to. Instead, it goes straight to the purchase page, which is really annoying.
