Hi there, here's my song entry for Torn's Got Talent 2018!

I wrote both the melody and lyrics, sang, played the guitar, and recorded the song all on my own.

Suggestion: Allow players to customize their own defeat text.

What is defeat text? It's the chunk of words you get when you take down another player in combat.

As of now, players only see this when they defeat someone: "You attacked/mugged/hospitalized XXXX". 

Pretty boring, right? What if as a player, we get to personalize what we say when we lose in a fight?

Here's a quick example:

Nobody enjoys losing, sure I get that, but wouldn't it be fun if you get to read the defeat text that other people have AS WELL AS to write your own?

It'll be a great way to showcase your creativity and wit, that's for sure. More freedom of expression for everyone, too!

"Well how do we customize our defeat text, Bagel?" It's simple, really: all you have to do is to head to the Preferences page and to edit what you'd like to say in the General/Attack Settings tab.

Maybe we could say three different things? One each for when we're attacked, mugged and hospitalized?

No vulgarities, of course! Let's keep it clean, shall we?



If this suggestion is implemented, I'm sure it'll make attacking/chaining much more enjoyable! Especially if you're not in a rush to hit player after player, of course.

Sure, this might not be a game-changing suggestion. But that doesn't mean it wouldn't make Torn even more fun than it already is!

3 Items Bagel Will Take to a Dessert Island

Chopsticks: I'll need cutlery if I want to survive on a dessert island. I couldn't find any forks or spoons, so I'll just settle for a pair of these. I'm Asian, so I'm perfectly capable of eating cake and candy with chopsticks.

First Aid Kit: There's a couple of insulin shots in each of these, the last I checked. You'll definitely need them if you're going to be trapped on an island filled with sugary treats and delights. Why? 'cause diabetes, duh.

City Finds and Networth ·

I've always wanted to ask: before "finding" an item in the city (I.e. spotting, clicking and retrieving a city find) does the value of the item boost your networth?

Or do you actually have to get that item into your inventory before its value is added to your NW

If you're diligent with racing constantly and work hard on getting your driver skill up, you might be good enough to take part in Torn's occasional URT competition

It gives out pretty good prizes if you win, you should look it up and read more about it

I think it'd be pretty cool if the Community Events team had an online meeting where they sort through contest entries and pick out the winners!

It would no doubt entertain Torn citizens as we watch them browse through and react to hilarious entries (or genuinely quality ones) for each competition.

It doesn't have to be a professional video, it could even be a livestream where everything is informal and done in the name of fun.

I'm pretty sure that it would even pique the interest of players that don't usually participate in Torn competitions (Tornpetitions?), perhaps even motivating them to participate in the next one?

Let me know what you guys think!
