When trying to join a Custom Race, but getting the error that the driver class isn't correct the track names disappear, but the number of laps in the track column stay there.
Here is a picture of the custom races list before I tried joining the Underdog (100 Laps) race... [image: i60.tinypic.com]
And then after getting the wrong driver class message, here is the list of custom races... [image: i57.tinypic.com]
Refreshing the custom race list brings the track names back so it's not serious, but still rather annoying. I'd also like to suggest adding the required driver class to the list so that people don't get confused/frustrated when trying to join races they think they should be able to.
I had a fully upgraded Lotus Exige which was removed from my enlisted cars. It had 305 points and was set to full acceleration and tarmac.
I just noticed this recently as I have been focusing on changing around my Class A cars so not sure if it happened right when RESPO was released or some update afterwards.
Has anyone gotten Xanax from a drug pack since RESPO?
I've been getting plenty of drug packs since the update, but every one of them has been Vicodin. I've gone through some streaks were I'd get one or the other 3 times in a row, but I'm running on 5 or 6 of only Vicodin now.

One car, and only upgrade till you can consistently place Top 3. By consistently I mean every third race or so. In order to not hit a brick wall when you get to Class A, you need to be patient and stingy with your points beforehand.
Accept that one car cannot be great on all tracks and start upgrading new cars. The Ferrari is a good choice for many of the tarmac tracks, but it won't be great at the tracks with dirt. I'd get a different car to set up specifically for tracks with dirt.
Yup. Click the "Change Car" button next to the car car that you already selected on the main screen and it will bring up your enlisted cars. Then it the "Change Car" next to the car that you want to use; same thing for the confirmation.
I've had some issues with events not showing for years now, but because it doesn't happen often I don't worry about it too much. I've meant to try and figure out if it is only for racing or anything, but I never did get around to testing that. I haven't had that happen since RESPO, though. Or maybe I haven't noticed if it has.
As the others have hinted at, only spend enough points in a lower class so that you are placing relatively consistently. For me that was Top 3 (not necessarily winning) about every 3rd race. I ended up with 211 points to spend on my first Class A car. The two above appear to have been more patient than me, which would lead to an even better start in Class A.
You need a few fully upgraded cars, which are upgraded to specialize in different tracks, in order to be truly competitive in Class A.
Since RESPO the matching is a little better as far as matching people with equal skill/points, but there will usually be someone with a maxed car specifically for that track.
I wouldn't go for a Lexus LFA since it fills the same role as the Aston Martin. If you're looking for a car for the tracks with a lot of corners like Sewage, then an Audi R8 works pretty well actually.
Some upgrades are used no matter the car or track. These upgrades are the ones that don't have any different options for Tarmac vs Dirt and/or Top Speed vs Acceleration.
If a track has a lot of corners, especially tight corners, then you want to prioritize Acceleration over Top Speed. If there aren't many corners or it is a large track in general (like Withdrawl) then Top Speed is needed.
Each track made up of Tarmac, Dirt or a mixture of each. This can be learned by looking at the color of the track. For my browser, Tarmac is Blue and Dirt is Green. This can be double checked on your browser by going to the statistics page of racing. Mudpit is the only full Dirt track so whatever color that is for you is the color for Dirt. Right above it is the Vector track, which is only Tarmac. Whatever color Vector is shown as represents Tarmac. Below Mudpit is Hammerhead, a hybrid track which has both Tarmac and Dirt sections, as shown by the color change within the track.
While you are going through the classes, I would focus on Tarmac for your car since there is much more Tarmac than Dirt across all the tracks. When you get to Class A and start upgrading more than one car, then specialize some cars in Tarmac and some in Dirt.
It's not much of a race of there is only one car. Nice concept and would be useful, but I don't see it fitting. Can always set a custom race to only 2 people and only Class A cars if you're concerned about speed.
I still haven't had a problem with an official race not finding enough people or starting. If your race doesn't start properly, then just leave and join a new one.
Only one upgrade of a type (e.g turbo) has an effect at a time. So as you assumed, there is no need to get the Stage 1 Turbo before upgrading to Stage 2 Turbo since only the Stage 2 Turbo will take effect. This applies for all upgrades that have replacements as you go up in classes.
Also as Mr_Charlie stated, do not put in more upgrades when your car is doing well. You need as many points as you can saved up for when you first get into Class A. I upgraded to the point where I was getting Top 3 consistently (about every 3rd race) and ended up with a little over 200 points to use on my first Class A car.
Custom races do in fact increase your DS, you just have to check the number of laps. In general, more laps = more skill gained. Also keep in mind that the higher your skill gets the harder it is to gain skill.
