What on Earth is a Silent Auction?
Well in Canada in the great Province of Manitoba we have these parties called Social's...somehow the rest of Canada does not do this:P...or if they do, nobody's ever told me :( Everybody from your friends to uncle Joe's 3rd cousin once removed can show up as long as they pay the entry fee...and in these parties (which are mostly for people to raise some money, mostly weddings) theres free food, music, dancing, a cash bar and the star of the night the silent auction...you pay 5-10 bucks and get a arms length of tickets which you then divide into various boxes (that correspond to a single basket) to win a gift basket.
Ive seen everything from a toaster to airplane tickets in these gift baskets, then near the end of the night we have a separate raffle for each gift basket from all the tickets that people put in each box in front of each basket. Thats the basic concept of a Silent Auction :D
What's it gonna cost you? Plushies...all them plushies!!! I want a swimming pool filled with them to dive in like Scrooge McDuck
1 ticket = Stingray, Jaguar or Wolverine Plushie

* If i do not receive a message along with the plushie/s, I will not be able to tell if you want to join the silent auction or not.
* If you are buying more than 1 ticket and want to split tickets between different buckets please say so in the message you send me.
*There is no limit to the amount of tickets you can purchase.

I've always been a fan of science fiction Books that involve travel and explore just beyond the mundane of human life.
This quote highlights the common ability of people that are champions of life, work, beliefs etc. But who refuse to move beyond their sphere of understanding. We demand opinions often on things that we don't understand or never experienced.
Doubt and Uncertainty are constant in life, they are helped by fear and misinformation. Im also a hipocrit because sometimes I do this. But, behavior can be corrected and changed.
So I refer to this quote whenever the smug satisfaction of being right enters my brain, because you never know how rigidly set your opinion is until one day you've been shown how wrong it is.

It doesn’t matter where I am or what I’m doing, it gives me a break from the grind of my everyday life.
When I play, I can do almost anything I want without getting in trouble, which makes it fun and relaxing.
I also really enjoy the long-term gameplay because it gives me goals to work toward...It’s the most committed I’ve ever been to something, and it feels good to see the graphs of my networth and battle-stats rise year over year..
This time last year was stuck on the tarmac at Pearson Intl Airport waiting for them to clear us for a loading gate and the seething mass of 150+ people missing pickups and connecting flights were calmed down when a group of people on board started singing Silent Night...
