Every president who gets elected promises to reduce or eliminate the national debt, but not a single president has done this since it was first created. To me, the solution seems pretty straight forward. Currently, our national debt is at $22tril. Of the $22tril, only around $4.8tril is actually owed to foreign powers, the remaining amount being owed to ourselves (the Veteran's Fund, Social Security, so on and so forth).
My solution would be to simply pay what we owe foreign powers and cancel the debt we owe to ourselves, then pass legislation that made it illegal to redirect funds from things like Social Security. In its present state, we will never be able to repay our debt. The interest alone is killing us. And the government continues pilfering the Veteran's Fund, Social Security, etc. If we canceled the portion of the debt we owe ourselves and made the practice of redirecting funds into other programs and initiatives illegal, the deficit would resolve itself.
In any event, I'm curious what other solutions you guys have? If you had the power to resolve the debt problem any way you can, what would your solution be?

There is some hip hop I'll listen to. I like Tech9, Eminem and a few others; what I really don't like are the songs that sound like they're just thrown together with no real thought. For me, there's got to be some rhythm and meaning, with a good tune. I'm not a big fan of most modern music, seems it's all superficial, for the most part.
I just hit level 15 and bought a large suitcase. I'd like to buy products abroad to sell in my bazaar at a profit, but so far, I haven't had much success finding anything abroad that is actually cheaper than the going price in the item market... Is there some way to determine what is available and whether or not buying it would make me a profit?

If stating the truth makes one a radical, count me in. The fact is, the interest on our debt alone is more than we can bear. Even with a rigid budget and massive taxation, we will still only be able to pay a portion of the interest. There has to be a better way.
The problem with this is that it's simply not possible. The interest alone is more than we can pay. Even if we were to raise taxes to 75%, we'd still only be able to pay a portion of the interest owed. There has to be another way.
It's a debt we owe to ourselves. The way the system is currently set up, that debt will never be payed, so rather than continuing to pay a portion of the interest, we should just cancel what we owe to ourselves, pay what we owe to third party institutions, pass legislation that prohibits the redistribution of assets from one program to another and use the money freed up to bolster those programs that got screwed.

I have always been an avid reader and have a wide range of personal interests. Currently, I am reading The Golden Bough, by Sir James G Frazer.
In this book, Frazer sets out to gain insight into a peculiar religious practice in a sacred grove in Italy where a religious priest/king guarded a particular tree with his life. On this tree was a golden bough and perchance someone were to successfully claim a golden bough and kill the king, he would take his place as guardian of the grove.
In attempting to understand the origins of this practice, Frazer did an in depth study of similar indigenous practices around the world.
The final result is a wide-ranging, comparative study of mythology and religion of indigenous peoples around the world.
This is a fascinating book and if you are at all interested in comparative religion, myth and anthropology I would highly recommend it.. Just keep in mind, while the information in this book is accurate, some of Frazer's ideas are outdated, as the book was written in the 1800s.
Okay, so if I understand everything properly, I just stick to one easy crime and keep doing the same crime over and over and my nerve bar will gradually increase over time allowing me to do more difficult crimes?

I started this faction without really understanding what it took to rank it up. Getting new members to stick around has been difficult because there are other much more established factions out there.
Currently, we have 6,304 respect and a handful of perks (see above).
I am only asking for $10 mil, to recoup some of the money I spent on the faction.

Despite plenty of successful theft crimes and having all of the crime enhancers, I can't seem to get past larceny. When I try to move up to armed robbery, I fail miserably, ending up in the hospital each time. Any suggestions to improve my ability to commit crimes? Thanks
There isn't a lot of difference between science and religion when it comes to their methods and objectives. Both claim to seek the truth, both claim to want to liberate men, both stand on principles and both depend on influence and money to further their objectives. Religion stands on both faith (there is a god) and fact (certain behaviors, like murder and stealing are wrong); science likewise stands on faith (scientific theory) and fact (scientific laws). In both cases, they feel they are right and in both cases, they try to control the minds of men.
The one area where science and religion differs is compromise. While scientists tend to be pretty stubborn when it comes to admitting certain scientific ideas are nothing more than theory, they do eventually come around when enough evidence proves it wrong. Religion on the other hand is incapable of such honesty because adherents believe their ideas come straight from the mouth of god.
