UK on the brink of a civil war? · · 19 likes

A bunch of right-wing losers have decided to latch onto a mass murder and attack mosques and today try and set fire to a hotel housing asylum seekers. Hopefully they will be sharing a prison with the kiddie murderer very soon.

Looking for a faction that does not require regular Xanax use, I'm on 1.4 billion battlestats, 60NNB. Small faction would be fine as long as it's got +10 travel bonus.

Yes and here's why.

When Asquith's government introduced Old Age Pensions in 1908, there were 13 working people for every pensioner, that ratio is now down to 4. State Pensions is already over 10% of everything this government spends and remember everything this government spends is tax from us, the public of the United Kingdom or borrowed so our children and grandchildren pay it off. The UN document says that if there was no immigration into the UK of people of working age then that ratio would reduce to 2.5 which is the point where you either tax working people to the point of bankruptcy or just let those too old to work to just starve. There is another solution which is to encourage people already living here to have more babies. But I know so many parents with good jobs (above median earnings) where all their wages are going on childcare for their kids and many more people that would be great parents but feel like they can't afford to have children. Why can't the Government fund cheap/free childcare, why can't they life the two-child benefit cap? Because they have to pay so much in pensions. We've got into a mess and migration allows us to get out of that mess.

Of course you're not British and have no reason to care about the people of the United Kingdom so why do you care so much about a foreign country?

In my country removing people from government is done by democratic elections - we've just had one of them and the Labour Party won a resounding majority. If they fail then I'm sure the British people will vote them out next time.

I didn't realise that you didn't like democracy.

I see two people attack one guy and then the rest of his mates trying to drag the attacker back from the victim. It might be better if whoever had been holding the phone had been able to keep it pointing in the right direction, it may have helped police identify the assailant. If you have loads of videos with the left attacking your beloved 'patriots' then send them to the police. I want everyone violent off the streets we share, I'm not sure that you do.

A while back the BBC did a poll to find the 100 Greatest Britons. You might have heard of the top two, Winston Churchill, son of an immigrant and Isambard Kingdom Brunel, son of an immigrant. Third was Princess Diana who only married the son of an immigrant. So why should we stop immigration when immigration has made this country great?

Sorry Shenzi, I thought I was responding to Magical Toaster who's been death threatening me (I assume that's what he means by removing me from politics by any means necessary), you've been fine, I still think you're wrong but it's a free country.

He's retweeted Tommy Robinson and Europe Invasion tweets. He's posted up the banned Tommy Robinson documentary which is banned in Britain because it contains libel against a Syrian refugee and he's posted support for Tommy Robinson after he was arrested last week for stoking up terrorism.

Also, this might be incidental but my "For You" tab on Twitter/X is full of tweets promoting the riots, some with the vilest slurs against muslims and asylum seekers. As you might expect I'm firmly on the left of politics and so if the algorithm was not designed to push the right wing talking points onto users than it should be giving me mainly left wing content. Someone at Twitter/X has their thumb firmly on the scale.

As a farewell to this thread - please note that I've managed to debate you without resorting to any personal abuse or downvoting you. I hope that even if you do not change your mind, you elevate the quality of your discourse to match mine.

I don't comment on American politics because I don't live there and it's for the citizens of that country to decide what direction they want their country to go in. That being said I know just enough about MLK to comment just this once.

"A riot is the language of the unheard" MLK said, I've got some sympathy for that when more legitimate means are unavailable. The American revolution against British rule was justified because they couldn't just vote themselves independence. If Maduro's regime in Venezuela falls after his rigged election then that's fair. What's happening in Britain isn't the unheard, Elon Musk, the richest and maybe most influential person in the world supports the riots. The right-wing press are supporting the riots, it's some of the most heard and powerful that are egging the rioters on while they stay far from the front lines.

You're being taken for a fool by your exploiters and I hope that one day you realise that.

The normal retort I get is "yeah, but we took our country back". Trouble is this week all the rioters are saying is "we want our country back" So I'm confused what that means now.

You did have to apply in the first safe EU country, but we decided to Brexit so we can't use the Dublin Regulation to send people back to France anymore. Well done Nigel Farage.

Liverpool's Spellow Hub library. Before and after a group of 'patriots angry about the murder of three young girls' paid a visit. This is thuggery, pure and simple.

By the way, this is another tweet from the account that posted that video from https://x.com/EuropeInvasionn/status/1820537338969411834

Really bad AI, the disembodied hand waving the islamic flag, the policeman's uniform not spelling POLICE correctly. Why would you use such a dishonest source to defend your position?

Yes, but in case you didn't notice, there's only one side starting the violence and that's the side you're on. There was a load of talk about a protestor being stabbed in Stoke on Sunday, no, he was hit by a brick thrown from further back in his own mob. So you can take your false equivalences and your whataboutism and shove it.

That's really clever of Gary to phone in to LBC to snitch himself as having committed a crime. If some of these people had more than one brain cell they would be dangerous.

Bump!

I am completely biased but Horizon is an awesome faction. I didn't really have a goal in Torn but got chatting with Faith in March when the faction was only around 300k respect and Faith had the vision of getting them to 1m respect by the end of the year. That seemed like a goal I could contribute towards. Now we're closing on 700k, up to Silver III and Faith's goal is certainly achievable. So if you're like I was - an average grunt in a big faction come and be a part of something pretty special and join us.
