So after many years of wanting to do Territory wars and enjoy that mechanic of the game, it still feels stale and impossible due to a few main challenges:
Alliances dominate the map
Fake walls lock areas down for days causing stale fights
Small factions (Bronze) have no way to use the map at all with said alliances.
The idea would be to limit which Sectors of the map that factions can enter, based on their rank. For example:
Diamond 3/ Diamond 2 factions can only exist in Sector 1 or 2
Diamond 1/ Diamond 0 factions would be in Sectors 2 or 3
Platinum factions - Sectors 2-4
Gold factions - Sectors 3-5
Silver factions - Sectors 4-6
Bronze factions - Sectors 5-7
Key Concepts:
You can only hold/attack territory within your RW tier band.
You cannot intentionally drop tiers to defend lower sectors without losing RW rank first.
You can assault any territory within your allowed sector range, even from off map, meaning no one is ever completely “safe.”
If you change rank and haven't planned you territory movement, you will be de-sectored.
Concept Explanation:
Being limited to your own sectors prevents HoF factions being able to move anywhere on the map to defend subsidiaries or alliances, encouraging factions to fight on their own merits. Alliances will be less beneficial being limited in how they can help, with more of a 'supply' aid that physical presence.
Being able to assault anywhere in your range means that a faction is never "safe", thus removing the efficiency of fake walls when someone could just drop the other side and with the current restrictions around renewing them, only limiting yourself from recapturing it later. This would have a large impact on rackets, as opposed to one faction holding them for a long period. It would still be possible but anyone could attack if within range.
Factions that term losses too often will put themselves at risk of losing their territories if they are not careful, hopefully having an effect on the number of termed wars. It is also beneficial to beat factions that you can, forcing them down sectors opening space for yourself.
Will this upset current factions / alliances with control? Definitely, but is that a bad thing or does it mean that the idea has promise?
Niche Considerations: Each rank has a range of sectors to prevent constant de-sectoring, allowing leeway without being too generous.
Unranked factions would be able to join the map at their hidden rank, but would still be required to fight for their territories, protecting true bronze level factions.
Should a territory be immune for 48 hours after a war? To prevent constant bombardment, if you successfully defend you get a brief immunity to enjoy the rewards, but the risk is this just brings back fake walls. Possible also add the inability to attack a territory for 14 days if you fail an assault.
TLDR: If you want territories, you have to fight other people your rank. No rewards without effort Link Territory Wars to RW tiers (or hidden strength tiers) to stop map manipulation, reduce fake walls, and create more balanced, competitive sector fighting

Our last two and current match ups So how many more times do we have to get out heads caved in before we bother fighting or getting a good match up? New system seems to be forcing us away from fighting towards terming to be honest. RIP the few factions in Diamond that always war.
So i guess not a bug but also renders it a fairly pointless mechanic. The 60 second restriction should apply all over or why bother. Providing an attack window of 1 second...
@pdk - never had a need to have someone sat in the loader with them before plenty of kill streaks have been through us so long as the buyer isnt actively drawing attention to themselves it generally goes fine.
