Disclaimer: Please note hospital times may vary due to your faction’s hospitalization time reduction perks and other factors. Specialized services that require very specific mercenaries (e.g. Top 20 Battle Stats) depend on their availability and willingness to take the contract - the more notice you give us for these, the better.

I'm not great at writing these sorts of posts, so please forgive the lack of segues and how all over the place this may seem.

This was my first year leading an eliminations team. I am so thankful my team trusted me to lead them despite that, and followed me to the end. Even more so, I am eternally grateful for everyone who stepped up and chipped in to make things easier, those who donated to our treasury so less well-off members could succeed (plus funded prizes and contracts), as well as every Stoneling who showed up and gave this their all—even when we were at death's door, down to our final life.

MASKY - For running internal so fucking well. All of the long hours you put in as a server admin, push lead, communicator, and... well, there's too much to name. You did not even just a little bit, but a LOT of everything, and words cannot begin to describe how grateful I am for having you by my side.

BoonieSteep - For your varied support both internally and externally. Between diplo coverage, spear-heading slacker patrol programs, volunteering to help hand out supplies to our distributors, and aid with any other little thing that came up; you were truly a star.

Deatvert - For your invaluable insight and useful scripts. It was really nice to have someone as experienced in this part of the game as you that I could fully trust and throw things at to receive feedback, and I am more grateful for that than you could possibly know.

Leafeh - For being willing to work with me even though we started off on the wrong foot. Most significantly, for stepping up and taking charge when I was over 36 hours sleep deprived, telling me I had 40 minutes to secure a deal before you'd make a call (and to sleep, haha), then helping us get back on the right track after.

Koflachs - For doing everything you could, anytime you could. You were massive help with supply and as an armorer/treasurer, on our slacker patrol, and with providing general assistance across the board (even regarding highly-confidential tasks).

MrPringles - For being a trusted personal assistant throughout this. Despite being stuck on mobile, you actively looked for ways you could help me out via outreach, discreet but comprehensive research, and pitching in with others to help fund things to aid in our success.

Zentiq - For your constant vigilance and positivity. Your amazing work on slacker patrol, with the revive contract management, and general support overall (and with very high activity) are a few of the things that come to mind.

Mistress_Kryn - For your help with outreach early on and running an art contest in our server. You did so much more too, on both slacker patrol and supply chain, and really contributed to the wonderful environment we had.

Blaze - For being as integral as you were in the mid/late game. Many top battle-stat players refuse to hit these, while you stacked and did whatever you could to be a stunning example of what a true team player is.

An additional thank-you to the Asclepius revive faction and their co-leader Tokuki, who received a hostile revives contract from us against Rocket Scientists last second (plus Reptilians later), and still managed to get it done.

Finally, there is one more group it would be truly wrong of me to leave out of this—APEX.

You guys were the best ally anyone could have ever asked for, sticking your necks out for us even when there was nothing to gain from it, putting yourselves at risk just to be good to us, and helping us in every way that you possibly could at the very end, when we needed it most.

LDP, you were my best friend from day one, and I am so happy we got to go through this together. To the rest of the APEX team—especially Jairyll, Swatsicle, Maharball, and Maks—I won't go into specifics of what you did, as it wouldn't be right to disclose such without your permission, but please know that I am eternally grateful for it all.

To everyone:

You all did so much it would be impossible for me to list everything, and you believed in me even when I wasn't sure if I believed in myself. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

This was an incredibly intense and stressful experience, but also fun. I got to know and befriend so many people—including some I would have never expected to—and I wouldn't trade any of that for the world.

Everyone knows Dsla is scammy. Check friend/enemy ratios next time, and/or search their name in forums.

Graving a GD thread with that much discussion from the community, over bumping, is pretty bad...

Specific thread aside, they could've / should've just warned you not to "bump" it, then let it fall back through the pages naturally, if it didn't get more input. If it's such a big deal.

For almost the last month there has been a lot of discussion around this situation involving a select group of players from The Next Level ("TNL") and a new-to-the-game coder, Kingfisher ("KF"; previously known as "aquagloop"), from Monarch ("M"). At first glance, and based on the faction tags of the people coming out to bat for the people involved, it seems like a matter of issue between TNL and M.

But this is not the case. It should not be seen at the level of faction vs. faction, as at the crux of it: a handful of players and a coder got together to create and then use a mug bot that was supported by websockets in a way that—while intended to be within Torn's rules—was determined to no longer be.

Following the release of "The WebSocket Files" by Andrew_616, this post and the document linked with it aims to provide additional context and full transparency from as much of an objective stance as we felt possible.

Some things to understand before jumping into this long read + collection of screenshots:

• This is not a reflection of either faction or family; only a handful of people were involved from TNL and only one person involved was from M.
• I am not saying Kingfisher is entirely innocent, nor am I arguing for his punishment to be lessened, and this post is not intended to incite a witch hunt against any of the individuals involved. Personally, I respect staff's decisions on this matter, and have only taken so long to release this as to not impede their investigation.
• This is all being shared because I feel the community deserves the closest to the full truth of the situation as we are capable of providing. I hope those who see this as a black and white situation are open to seeing some of the grey by taking the time to read some of the document linked below.

• Do not bump unless it is at least off page 1. Excessive bumping is subject to warnings at staff discretion

So, report it when you see sincere over-bumping.

One reason you might choose to go for a merc contract instead of bounties: Mercs can avoid revivables and pause for ED!

It might help if your OP updated his main post with evidence of that sexual harassment you described actually happening - presuming it exists, cause I'm not reading 16+ pages to find it, and I'm sure others aren't going to want to either. Those are very serious accusations you're making, so ones you should be more than prepared to back up.

On the other hand, if you have to repeatedly edit and post clarifications on a hit piece, because all of Torn turned against you when you thought you were already showing them your best smoking gun... It's a damn weak hit piece, and there's not much salvaging it.

Albeit that's obviously not the intention of that rule, with it being a social one / putting fault on the person with the ban then. Imo there's just at least a similar existing rule / framework with that one, that could be pulled from / altered to apply to these sorts of sites.

But then you also have to factor in that some people use others to place bookie bets, or open caches for them, plus third-party gambling sites aren't the only form - there's also Discords dedicated to it. And where do you draw the line between things like raffles, and games of "chance".

I definitely don't envy you as the decision-maker for any of this, and am glad to read it's at least come up before as something y'all aren't a fan of. Gambling addictions ruin lives, and it's sickening the lengths some folks are going to to tempt and exploit that real issue, from people who choose to self-exclude, just for pixels. They absolutely know what they're doing and why their sites work, which is the awful reality.

Perhaps an API endpoint to check for a casino self-exclusion, and require third-party gambling platforms check this for each person using them, could be a partial solution?

Looking for somewhere to spend Halloweek that has interesting plans for it (50k, 100k, and/or events) and has the "Hospitalization X" Faction Aggression perk (+50% outgoing hospitalization time).

Prefer somewhere with revits but ofc I'm asking a lot here last minute so don't have high expectations, haha.

I take off work for HW and do a massive movie binge during it, so will be around all week with full availability to help chain watch whenever, for however long. I really don't mind doing that for hours upon hours and am used to scheduling my sleep around that.

Not in an energy job, nor reading a book, but have Dark Power unlocked and will using FHCs all event + minimize natural E waste.

It was incredibly stressful and intensive.

But yes. One of the best experiences I've had in Torn, and I think the one I formed the closest bonds with folks in such a short period of time.

It was hell, but it was beyond worth it, and I will be participating again (albeit, not sure yet about leading, haha).

It's been a rule since post-merge, and while I don't know how well it was enforced in the early days (as I was not here), I can vouch for it having been actively enforced for at the very least this past year.
