I just want to say publicly, because I have told both CRLF and Kata individually, that I truly think your map is awesome! I also want to say a huge THANK YOU to both of you for not only the time and effort it took to create the map, but also the energy and dedication it took to putting on the amazing contests you did throughout the holidays.
I am sure I speak for everyone who participated in the various competitions when I say that we appreciate you and all the effort you put in. Not only was your map something different and special, but you also went above and beyond to give us fun challenges and incredible prizes (thanks to your benefactor for those too!).
Thank you again and I truly hope that player maps are allowed again next year and if so, you will participate again because you made this first Christmas Town event something really special for me.
Wishing you and everyone a Safe, Happy, and Healthy 2020 and Beyond!
I don't know why I am posting this, maybe because I am just feeling so low, but I am really struggling right now. I had another surgery last Thursday on my eye. I was hoping it was going to fix the issues that remained after the surgery I'd had in December but it turned out that things are now worse. In December, I had to have an artificial lens implant removed that had slipped out of place and damaged my cornea. I was supposed to get a new lens implant and a partial corneal transplant. My eye rejected the lens they were attempting to implant so they eventually had to remove it and while they were able to do the partial corneal transplant, it was not sitting where it was supposed to sit. My eye had to heal and I had some serious pressure issues, etc. so they were not able to attempt to implant another lens and readjust the cornea until the other day. Well, it turned out that the cornea had healed too well, in the wrong place, so they had to cut it back out and my eye was so damaged and stressed that they could not even attempt to do the lens implant. I have been blind in that eye since the surgery in December but could at least make out some blobs and hand movement, etc. Now I am still blind but everything is a complete blur.
I have a genetic disease that greatly complicates my situation and I get it. But I am so depressed because the surgeries take a lot out of me. The first was 3 1/2 hours this one was 3 hours and 15 minutes and now I need at least one more. I am awake the whole time. I felt pain off and on, I was aware of everything going on but had not realized that it was not successful until the tend. I am dealing with some other health issues too and I am just feeling so overwhelmed and stressed. I know things can always be worse, and I don't mean to complain because some people cannot see at all, but I am still in a lot of pain, dealing with my other health issues, and stressing about needing more surgeries.
I asked for a referral to talk to a mental health professional because it all just feels too much. I'm sorry to complain, I guess I just needed to vent this somewhere. I am trying to hold it together but it is hard. :-( (Sorry for the long post and for any typos)
I have a suggestion. I always have a difficult time figuring out when events start and end because of the different time zones, time changes, etc.
My suggestion would be to have an Event Flag on the home screen, maybe next to the news ticker, that says Event: xxxxx If there is an active event, the name would be displayed in the field and if not, it would be blank.
Bear with me, I am very new still but one of my biggest frustrations is not having access to my own vault (I know about the various money storage options - vaults, faction banks, investing, Ghost Trades, etc).
I thought it would be great to have a "Wall Safe" upgrade for Mansions that could hold up to $10 million and maybe a "Safe Room" or still "Wall Safe" upgrade for Ranches that could hold up to maybe $50 million. It is an interim step before owning a Palace or ideally a Private Island.
Indicate with a "Thumbs Up" (ðŸ‘) if you like the idea. Thank you!!!
I'm really, really sorry for your loss. I know it is not easy, especially with your first loss. My grandpa was my first loss too. I am a really firm believer that your loved ones are still with you, even after they pass. Talk to your Grandpa. You may not have him with you physically but I believe he still hears you and is still with you. Look for things that remind you of him and chances are those signs are his way of letting you know he is still near. Also, they say if you dream about people who have passed on, that is their way of visiting you. Take care.
I'm sorry for your loss. I lost 3 very important people to me all in a row - July 2008, October 2009, and June 2010. I know they are all in a better place but I miss their physical presence - especially when you sometimes just need a hug from one of them.
Mug free trade of a high value item of course! Always prompt as well. I appreciate that he is online during the overnight hours for the US because I am a vampire who can't sleep at night. :-)
So, I highlighted why last Christmas, the last year really, have been so hard for us in Day Three of Duke's Giveaway. Now I want to give an update and explain that while this has been the hardest time of ourlives, there have been blessings that have come from this experience that we would not have had if we hadn't experienced what we did last year.
We were homeless for a while in 2020. We would still be homeless in fact if someone that we had not seen or heard from in years had not heard about our story and stepped in to help us. The parents of someone my now 23 year old son went to elementary school with, when they heard we were homeless last year, reached out to us and have been paying our rent each and every month so that we would not be homeless anymore. The rent for this new apartment we found last year is $2,000/month (Los Angeles is expensive). They have paid over $24,000 and counting in rent for us to keep us off the streets or out of a shelter until my disability application can be approved. If anyone needs an example that kindness still exists in the world, this is it.
I have had 3 major eye surgeries in the last year - the first last December/Christmas, the next in April 2021, and the most recent on October 28, 2021. Each surgery was more difficult and longer than the last and the first two were unsuccessful. I have been blind in my right eye since last December as a result on the first surgery. The last surgery done in October of this year finally worked. They were finally able to do a full corneal transplant and implant a new artificial lens in my eye. I am still legally blind in that eye but I can at least make out some shapes now that I have not been able to for almost a year. They say we won't know for up to another two years what my final vision will be in that eye. I may never be able to drive again, etc, but I finally have some hope that I will have at least a little vision in that eye which I was beginning to lose hope of ever having again. Plus, the fact that I don't have to go through any more 4+ hour surgeries again for that eye.
At the end of April 2021, I was diagnosed as having a softball-sized cyst on my right ovary. I have to have surgery to remove the cyst and it will be very invasive and I'll have to stay in the hospital for2-3 days after, at least all of the cancer markers have come back negative and they are optimistic that it is benign and even if the cyst does end up being cancerous, it has not spread anywhere else.
We lost our car in the summer of 2019 which is extremely difficult in Southern California where the transportation system leaves a lot to be desired. My oldest son and I have multiple doctor's appointments each month and not having a car to get to those plus to live our everyday lives, has been really, really hard. A friend-of-a-friend has been loaning us, at no charge, an old work truck of his so that we at least have something until we can get another car of our own. My son is 7'4" and doesn't really fit in the truck and only my husband and one passenger can go anywhere at one time, at least we have some form of transportation in the meantime. Our dream is that someone might have a small, used SUV or mini-van that they would be willing to sell to us for cheap until we can get something for ourselves. We are so blessed to have ANY type of car right now. Another friend has offered to give us $1,000 towards getting our own car that will be more practical for us - yet another example of human kindness.
I could tell more. The moral of our story is this - even though this last year has seemed like a bad dream we can't wake up from, it could have been, could still be, so much worse. We have learned to really appreciate even the smallest blessings and we have seen time and time again the results of having Faith.
Wishing you all a safe, happy, and healthy 2022 and beyond.
Best of luck to you. We all have to know when it's time to move on, from Torn or anything. To answer your question, the one thing that is the most important to me is health. My health, the health of my husband and kids. Health is one of those things you can't get with money, etc. Even people with lots of money have passed away from cancer and other ailments, their money maybe helping them to have the best care they could get, but not able to save their lives in the long run. I have several health issues right now and it has been very overwhelming.
Again, I wish you all the best in whatever you do/play next.
I have been blind in my right eye since an eye surgery failed in December of 2020. I have my 3rd eye surgery on October 28th and I am not looking forward to another 4 hour surgery that I am awake for the whole time. I just hope the corneal transplant and lens implant work this time sot hat I can get some vision back in my eye!
Actually, my Faction mate RoqueAuFabii1 actually suggested something that maybe makes more sense, maybe there is an event icon added to the icons on the Information section when there is an active event. That might make even more sense than what I had suggested. :-)
You are right. I know the new ticker does have it, I was just looking for something that you can see right as you log in or "at a glance". Maybe it is because I am blind in one eye and I tend to not read the News Ticker but could easily just see a single indicator field but I guess it is redundant. :-)

I cannot say enough good things about the Lone Wolves faction. If someone is looking for a laid back faction with great people, and good perks, The Lone Wolves is it. One of my very favorite factions in Torn. <3
I highly recommend Detective Agency Services provided by TheSteve. I utilized his services for the first time today. He replied to my message really quickly and provided the information I had requested right away. He was great to work with. I will definitely contact him if I need History information again.
