That is a possible course of action if they put all the partitions on separate drives. I would be surprised they hadn't already considered a something like this. Unfortunately, I think this solution would just be kicking the can down the road.

I think Christmas Town should use an engine similar to what Neverwinter Nights used. It should be doable in the suggested timeframe.

You can boost that success rate higher if you don't enter 9 for your third guess. Instead, place a number that you know is part of the combination but don't know it's correct spot.
