The pub door creaks open.
A figure steps in small frame, hole soaked clothes clinging to her like shadows and messy wet hair, combat boots dripping gutter water onto the cracked tiles. She hesitates. Just a beat. Like prey sniffing the air for wolves, or maybe just figuring out if she belongs here at all. Then, slowly, she pulls her wet messy hair.
Dark smudges under her eyes, hair matted to her cheekbones. Lip cracked. The other clutches something tigh. A folded flyer, creased and damp. The one with the wolf biting the spoon.
She walks up to the bar. Doesn't sit.
“Savvyna,” she says flatly, voice raspy like she hasn't slept in days. “Used to run with a faction. Not anymore. Got kicked out right after I got scammed for everything I earned in that war.” A bitter smile twitches at the corner of her mouth. “Guess trust is a currency I couldn’t afford.”
She leans in, lowers her voice. “Anyway… I heard the drinks are cheap, and the rats don’t ask questions.”
Then she finally slides onto a stool and raises two fingers. “Whiskey. Cheap one. Neat. And make it strong...I don’t wanna taste anything.”
She keeps glancing at the door. Like she's expecting someone. Or something.

Found Torn during COVID while stuck overseas. TikTok had a retro nostalgia trend, so I searched for Crime City (Facebook platform popular in 07'08')—gone. Googled alternatives, landed here. Told friends it’s great for “looking busy” (perfect for socially awkward/single folks—me too back then). They moved on. I’m still here… out of habit (and denial)
tldr gpt all the way....
In Torn City, Kevin Torn leads the Arcadian Rangers after defeating former leader Neeny. Optimistic about their new alliances, they prepare for Neeny’s retaliation. When Neeny attacks with his crew, the Rangers unite under Kevin’s leadership, successfully repelling the assault. As dawn breaks, Neeny retreats, vowing revenge. The Rangers celebrate their victory, ready to face future challenges together and build a stronger faction.
Here are the main characters from the story:
1. Kevin Torn: The newly appointed leader of the Arcadian Rangers. He is ambitious, determined, and ready to reshape the faction after ousting the former leader, Neeny. He is passionate about rebuilding trust and forging alliances within Torn City.
2. Kubiii: A calming presence and close ally to Kevin. He is supportive, demonstrating unexpected fierceness during the battle, and embodies loyalty and hope for the Rangers' future.
3. Fraser: Another key member of the Arcadian Rangers, Fraser is enthusiastic and embodies a spirit of unity among the group. He helps strategize their next moves and is determined to protect their newfound power.
4. Neeny: The former leader of the Arcadian Rangers, now a desperate antagonist. He seeks to regain control and intimidates Kevin and the Rangers, showcasing a mix of anger and vulnerability. His character represents the past the Rangers are trying to move beyond.
Here are some questionable elements in the story that might raise concerns or prompt further discussion:
1. Neeny's Motivation: Neeny's sudden proposal for a deal after losing power feels inconsistent. What motivates him to seek reconciliation rather than retaliate? His desperation could use more exploration to make his character arc believable.
2. Allegiance of Neeny’s Allies: The story mentions Neeny gathering allies, but their motivations and backgrounds are unclear. Why do they support him after his leadership failed? More context on these characters could strengthen the narrative.
3. Character Development: While the characters exhibit growth, the story could benefit from deeper exploration of their backstories, particularly Kevin, Kubiii, and Fraser. What specific experiences shaped their personalities and motivations?
4. Conflict Resolution: The battle scene culminates in victory, but the aftermath lacks depth. How does this victory affect the Rangers psychologically? Are there any consequences for their actions? More focus on character reactions could enhance the story's emotional weight.
5. Future Threats: Neeny's final words suggest he will return, but the nature of that threat is vague. What specific plans does he have? Clarifying the stakes for the Rangers moving forward would help build tension for potential sequels or continued storylines.
6. Unity and Trust: The story emphasizes unity among the Rangers, but the transition from mistrust (due to Neeny's previous leadership) to complete faith in one another feels rushed. What specific actions or experiences helped them soli
dify their trusts.
Opinion : ok
Look, my past might seem spotless, but I’ve been through enough to handle myself here. I’m just handling business, making sure things stay in line. Nothing shady, and nothing to worry about. Not everyone around here is up to no good
