Currently I run a tiny little adult novelty company called Money Shots (1*), but I think and dream big. I work on financial reports and trade with members to the benefit and profit of all, and it occurs to me that what I would love to see in Torn is a better development of an economic type of faction - the Corporation.
Basically, I would like to see some of the features of factions applied to companies - namely, that faction perks that make business or commerce better for members would be better (more sales, better ad results, discounts on location purchases, etc), and that allowing companies to benefit from faction-style bonuses would also be a good improvement (allowing them to generate revenue for the corporation in exchange for the corporation's support).
The powers of a faction could allow members to contribute items towards the corporation, and can maintain accounts for members to be paid from, but right now there's no in-game benefit to such faction-based corporate structures other than what the users create. Likewise, you can only own one company yourself at a time, so if you want to spiral one successful business off to a trusted subordinate, you really don't have any influence (or profit) from doing so aside from a lump sum sale.
I really enjoy the trading aspects of Torn, and the business aspects -- but I feel could always be better. As such, I'm submitting this idea for further review and discussion, improvement, and ultimately maybe to attract the attention of the devs.
I'd like to suggest that bazaars receive a mode where they can be managed similarly to items on the item market - namely, so that you can sort by name, price, value, or quantity so that you can easily find things in there once you've added them, in case you need to change the price or remove them. I understand the value of manually repositioning items for best initial appearance, but frankly, I'd much rather just be able to find where I left my plushies.
We're an up-and-coming adult novelty store that has room for two more employees. We rotate training on a daily basis, and are willing to assign you to roles that train you in the statistics you need when necessary. Help our erotic DVD empire get established today!
Right now, it feels like factions and their wars are basically a massive money (and points) sink. I'm sure we could do better. Instead of being a two-bit criminal burning DVDs to build crime levels and buying individual units of Xanax, why can't we own a real empire?

The Jail Gym actually has the best early-game training for Defense stat, specifically. I do enjoy actually being able to play the game, so the elements that force you away like the jail, hospital, and flying aren't that fun for me, but I understand both why they exist and why getting you out is appealing. Still, there's some missions that apparently require you to be in jail, which is made incredibly difficult if you don't get to sit there for more than two seconds.
I'd love to have this as an option -- right now I can't really train people to fill jobs I want them to fill someday unless I want to be less effective as a businesswoman.
