My buddies have a game on Kickstarter that ends in a few days. They are just shy of the goal, so thought I would throw this out there just to try and help them out. No idea how active the forums are or if people that enjoy Torn also play card and board games.

100 day old player here and I am kind of thankful for the update. I have spent a lot of time playing the last few months but it has kind of become a chore with the only thing I was really looking forward to was buying HRG after my money comes out the bank since I made the mistake of putting it in there for 2 months.
I also wanted to unlock reviving so I could be useful as a newer player before they changed that.
Maybe soon they will change flying to where you have to do captcha codes every 5 minutes during flight?
My pro / con opinion from Stock Changes.
Pros
-making it mirror the real stock market is really cool. I was hoping it did something like this when I first started. Also the minute to minute update vs 15 minute updates is really cool!
-multiple BBs or being able to get a second stack of something like LCS would have been sweet.(LCS is terrible now) but with the old system, being able to buy LCS when it was cheap getting a second chance at payouts / then being able to sell it to 2 players when there was a demand would have been super cool.
Cons
-Unlimited shares?
Don't think think the stock market works that way. Supply and demand. (Some people will like this but it makes it less of a multiplayer game. It was annoying when a stock wasn't available but thats how it works.)
-Instant buying and selling.
Also don't think the stock market works that way. Supply and demand. (Some people will like this but again, it's removing player interaction.)
-Fixed payouts.
This could go either way but as someone else said the random interval reward feels more rewarding when you get a payout. The once a week / once a month is boring but some people definitely would like it. I'd say having an iptipn to where you can opt into the fixed payout vs the random one would make everyone happy.
-Completely murdered HRG and LCS for new players. As a baby player it felt good to get LCS and even TCHS for some cash flow. Now that is gone and we are tild it is better for us without really explainig why or how.
I'm probably done, it was fun for the few months I was here. If they are gonna burn a bunch of the new playerbase who found Torn during Covid and fell in love with a game that was 15 years old by makeling changes that no one asked for... well, time will tell how it works out for them.
Part of the fun was learning how the long running system worked and getting knowledge passed down by older players. Being relevant in a war because you could get on the wall to defend and be revived. Now it doesn't seem worth wasting time trying to learn a 15 year old game because they are sabotaging what made the game relevant 15 years later.
If the game is a "Marathon", which it is, what you have essentially done is moved the finish line to another country for new players. Someone can have read hours of guides, spent 3 months working toward LCS and HRG and poof, 3 months wasted.
Also I've heard some people joining Army and taking a break from the game for a while, but now they wont have stock payouts to come back to. I'd imagine they log in then log back out for good.
Long rant, but it helped me work through my thoughts / give closure. Good luck peeeps, happy throat kicks and choke outs from Leslie!

New to Torn but going hard!! Hustling and got to level 15 in like a week. Now trying to figure out flying and how a poor newbie can get a PI! Just discovered giveaways while trying to figure out how other fresh faces are married with PIs and not even level 15! Hoping to get lucky in a drawing :)
