I'm currently posting this with TornTools enabled.

I just received the "Against the Odds" mission and one of the targets is active — I was even chatting with him earlier today! (As of the time I was assigned him, his last action was only 1 hour ago.)

Here is the intended and active victim:

Would it be possible to be assigned another Target or Mission? (I have the opportunity to purchase a book within a couple days, but I need the Mission credits to do so!)

You've brought up another piece of evidence that a person can not play Torn like one wants to or in the profession they choose, contrary to all the adverts for the game. Even the ads on the home page where we need to sign in are lying! :-

I don't know if I will pick F2F or M&M — but for me, regen'd E will play a role in the decision.

And for anyone I talk to about the debate, I'll just make sure they get all of the accurate info and support whatever choice is good for them. :-)

Everything you said makes sense and works, but I think that you maybe forgot about regenerated E?

The 250 E energy bar will naturally take about as long to fill as a Xanax lasts — about 7 to 8 hours rather than 5 hours. So that might make up the 140 difference each day between FHCs and cans.

To regen 140 E takes about 5 hours, or 1.5 hours for every Xanax you take without any loss of E that you might lose otherwise between Xans! Esentially you will have less loss of regen'd E due to real life: you can sleep longer, need fewer interruptions from work or other activities, Torn flights can be longer, etc., just because your E bar doesn't fill as fast and there will be far fewer occasions when your E bar will not be full (i.e.: more regen'd E is captured) between log-ins to train in the gym!

This amout of "extra captured E" will vary between each Torn player, but might greatly narrow the apparent E discrepancy between cans and FHCs.

I have had coffee today, but I bet I still made some mistakes somewhere, above, LoL!

I can sort-of agree with you, with the exception that there is nothing in Torn game documentation or statements by creators saying that Missions will have inactive targets.

(Minor example: My assigned Mission immediately previous to this one did have an active target.)

I was assigned a Hide and Seek Mission with two potential targets within the parameter of being level 91 — and one of the two are an active player.

I do not require any action for myself for this (these?) issue(s) — I am simply reporting the bug(s) for everyone's benefit. :-D
