Torn City Warehouses - A Massive Conspiracy · · 24 likes

Somebody is making a LOT of money off warehouse speculation in TC. According to the Torn Wiki, "Torn City has over 1.5 million registered players and attracts around 40,000 players every day..." According to forums and guides all across the Tornscape, one of the critical steps--after stealing thousands of jackets--in developing oneself in Torn City is performing a crime known as "Warehouse Arson." Presumably, each citizen of Torn City on their way to the upper echelons of citizenhood is conducting THOUSANDS of these warehouse arson crimes over the course of their Torn career.

So the natural question here is: "Who benefits from this behavior?" Clearly, Warehouse Arson would not be the cornerstone crime that it is without some entity supplying Torn City with the thousands upon thousands of warehouses necessary to supply the pyromaniac citizenry with material to immolate.

I'm only a new player, still learning the ropes, but it seems to me that this behavior warrants closer scrutiny. Who is benefiting from the Torn City dedication to torching warehouses? Some ideas:

--Some master criminal is engineering a hole in the ozone layer as part of a sinister plot to accelerate climate change, and requires a steady supply of accelerants and atmospheric pollutants to facilitate its dastardly campaign.

--There exists an acrimonious power struggle between the Civil Engineering division of Torn City municipal management and the Zoning Commission, resulting in a years-long stalemate over which parts of the city are zoned for warehouses.

--The Torn City Fire Department, which is paid for dealing with fires, must naturally see to it that there is a plentiful supply of fires with which to deal.

--The Mayor--possibly in cooperation with The Woman--subsidizes Warehouse Arson in order to forestall thousands of daily kidnappings.

--A tremendous amount of burned real estate is a requisite component of summoning Cthulhu.

I am at a loss. I turn to the Torn Community to shower the pure water of truth onto the blazing fires of pyromania and the choking smoke cloud of apathy that is this too-often-ignored element of Torn City Life. What do YOU think is going on here?

As a fellow new player, I can confirm that by following this system, I've made it all the way to 200 stolen jackets without ever suffering a red failure--I'm only a week into the game and almost always green now. I'm still not at 20 NNB, but I don't ever get arrested trying to steal jackets.
