The end times are upon us! With the release of crimes 2.0, the apocalypse is inevitable. The beer will run dry, dirty bombs will fall from the sky regularly, and ranked warriors turning to crime will be set upon us all. Be forewarned.
How do we prepare?
Expect economic collapse. The billions in your vault will be worthless. The only solution is to shift to a barter system. Luckily, Ched has blessed us with the perfect vehicle for our salvation. Bottle Caps.
To facilitate our transition to the new economy, I've opened Torn's first pre-apocalyptic marketplace! Stock up on scrap metal for your construction projects, find parts for that truck you're putting together, or even forge a whole new identity! Our goal is to provide everything you need for your life in the future of crimes 2.0. Just bring bottle caps!
Items are on my bazaar, with the trade rates listed in the prices. Use me to convert your spare crime drops to bottle caps or obtain the ones you need without dealing with that volatile cash.
Skipped most of this, but I feel like I gotta comment on the aspergers thing. I'm autistic. A lot of my faction is autistic. Almost all of my best friends irl are autistic. This is a very autistic game. If you're here, you probably are too. Autism's impact on social skills is well documented, but what's being shown here is what he falls back on when he lacks the skill. That's all personality. Autism does not make you a dick.
Also, shoutout to sacrifice for giving me the most fun war I've fought so far. Their trash talk is fun. Nothing that warrants "get cancer and die."
Logged on to an interesting new bounty today [image: i.ibb.co] Since they've decided to remain anonymous, obviously the only reasonable answer is to make a whole GD post about it. I am in fact an archer. What about the rest of you? Is bodybagger a coroner? Is bogie stuck in ched's nose? [image: i.ibb.co]
Lgbt wrath? Ok story time. I once heard my cishet landlord trying to explain the struggles of being lgbt to my trans roommate. He then went on to say that it's all new, so it's her responsibility as a trans person to explain it to everybody who's ignorant on it, presumably like him. Maybe not deserving of full 10/10 wrath, but it's up there as far as microagressions go.
I started my old faction as a counter to people like this. I was given Xanax and edvds valued at about 330k a hit when I left my pyramid scheme situation, and cache prices were very high back then.
It wasn't sustainable to do things the way we were anymore, but when we were active, we were some of the first to standardize 80 percent payouts and free Xanax. If we made deals, pay per hit was really high, but total pay was low. Most wars were no deals and we were paying over a million a hit times a lot of hits for a long time, sometimes 2 or 3 mil. A lot of factions back then were taking advantage of their members, which is where I got most of my recruits from, but I've never seen anything on this level.
My networth graph shows how it's done right. I had a steady climb off of paying myself for my hits only while prices were high, ended up actually putting money into the faction towards the end as prices were falling, then the spike is from selling the faction when we were done. That's where your real money is made. I made almost 5B over about 15 months paying myself the same as any other member there, then I sold off the faction after it stopped making us money for 7B. And from there, the plan was to pay the co-lead 30 percent of the proceeds and two of my former coleads 20 and 10. I'd get 40 as the founder. But my colead at the time has been inactive since then, so I've had 70 percent of 7B sitting in stocks waiting on him to come back and take his share.
10B took a year and a half, and nobody got exploited along the way. Prices are lower now, but you have like 12 factions. I think you can figure something out.
Seems like raising the point cost of refills would drive the value further down, not bring it up. If the amount of dollars people are willing to spend on refills doesn't go up, that's less dollars per point. I'd be surprised to see any significant impact in either direction, honestly. Most neutral I've ever felt about an update.
The caches continue to lose value. Nothing that was done impacted that, and I don't think there is any way to reverse that. It isn't worth it to participate unless you can stay in diamond, then it's still a better idea to rig the wars.
Well I'm finally retiring from wars and it's basically all I did on this game. My stats suffered cause I've spent so much energy warring. It was fun. Now it isn't. In my time here, I've realized the best thing Ched could do for Torn would be to give it to someone else. This guy has zero idea why people play games.
