I find the idea obscure that this would be an intentional feature, and we'd allow those utilizing scripts to gain exclusive knowledge that is unavailable to those who are not using scripts?
We didn't need a script to tell which role was what. The roles always appeared in order. The script made life easier but it was not necessary.
Also, every aspect of this game except maybe chat is dominated by those using scripts to gain exclusive knowledge.
OC2 will become a completely mindless point and click activity. Do I have X% for role? Yes. Click. Forget. 3 days later: Oh I won the slot machine. My lizard brain is happy.
My bazaar, Medical Supplies, has only sold medical supplies for the past 14+ days. Many of the others in medical category list additional items outside of the medical supplies category presumably selling some. Either there's an error causing mine not to show up or the column of numbers in category specialization is misleading. The api says these are unique weekly buyers for both item specialization and the category specialization. I have at least 61 unique buyers in the medical category according to the item specialization and I haven't sold non medical items in the last week. If it's not a bug then the number displayed in the category specialization should display what's being measured.
Next to the incinerator is a rusty-ass shack with its door hanging open. Stepping inside, you cough to make sure there's no one inside. Nobody speaks or coughs back, so you start rifling through the drawers and cabinets. Hung up inside a closet, you find a pair of hi-vis vests. Congratulations, you are now highly visible.
Text mentions a pair of vests but you only receive one.
23:25:47 - 26/09/26 You used 2 nerve successfully searching the junk yard gaining 1x Hi-vis Vest
I'm guessing this is the only crime left they could think of to put into vandalism. And while many brave souls pushed through graffiti to get to the 10k medal, most of us were not going to do that.
They were trying to sell stuff that was still 3 days to go on auction. I don't know if they ever owned anything. The strange thing was that the three weapons I looked up were all listed by one account.
Would it be feasible to insert an indicator of which role has the most relative importance on the OC scenarios? I can remember a few but my brain can't keep it all straight. I currently just go look it up so it's not a need just a "it would be nice."
Edit: sorry, I forgot the subject of the thread. I was thinking of your stand alone crime map graphics and not the website when I wrote this.
Why do you have to exclude the percent in the first option? Is it a limitation in how the software works? Also, what software do you use to make your maps?
And a side question: I think it was Cloudjumper that implied the value of the items is considered in the rewards (specifically that they'll use the sell value when a stable market value isn't available). Does that mean if you score a high value item from one pool than a high value item from another pool is less likely? I'm trying to understand how what CJ said comes in to play.
The only way they were that fast is they were watching you right before you med'ed out. You need to change your patterns. Self hosp to extend the time. Read a forum post or two then med out and fly or close your bazaar. Med out then self hosp immediately might be another tactic to try. Blacklist the best muggers. Forces them to use other buyers which can cause a chance of a delay as the two communicate.
I'm not sure it makes sense to reward item specialization in the category specialization at least in my understanding of how item specialization works. My understanding is you get a positive scoring every time you have a unique buyer of an item for that item and then some form of negative scoring for unique buyers of other items. (I'll presume there's some other black box mystery for this but probably less significant.) But if I build a bazaar that specializes in carrying every medical item and I do well in several medical items such that I don't specialize in any one item it sounds like it will be hard to make the medical category rankings (which appears to be what happened at the last rating as I don't show on any item specialization and then fell off the medical category rankings). Is there some tweak you could make so that the category specializing truly is category specialization? Like maybe items bought in the same category have a much lower impact on item specialization at least for calculating category specialization.
I appreciate that you want to keep some black box mystery to cut down on ranking manipulation but right now it seems to be too arbitrary to be useful. I average once per week where I completely fall off the list after being at the top of the medical category for 5 or 6 days. Then I magically reappear at the top of the list the following day. I'm trying to realize your vision but it's honestly creating a huge opportunity cost in lost sales.
